Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebecca Cornejo.
Hi Rebecca, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am a Los Angeles native and makeup artist.
I started off freelancing for special events and photoshoots in 2013, until 2018 when took a leave of absence to have my beautiful daughter Ava (4).
After taking a break from the beauty world, I quickly realized I felt most fulfilled as a makeup artist and went back to school to attain my California cosmetology license at Flair College and later transferred to Paul Mitchell the School Sherman Oaks.
During my first few months of school, I realized I was pregnant with my son Nico (1). I decided to continue with school and graduated two months before giving birth to my 2nd baby.
My kiddos are the biggest reason why I chose to establish Beauty by Bex LLC mobile makeup and hair services in November 2022. I strive to provide myself and other beauty pros the flexibility of work-life balance.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My life has had its fair share of adversity but it has also helped shape me into the capable woman I am today. I don’t back down from a goal when there is no clear path, I always pray.
Regarding the business, my biggest challenge has been getting the word out that there is now a professional and accessibly priced mobile makeup and hair service! I want to work with woman of all backgrounds and help them attain their beauty goals.

We offer affordable and professional mobile makeup and hair styling services. We specialize in wedding parties, special life events and photoshoots. Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Starting a company always comes with risk but in my case, I have my family to provide for. I had to balance the risk of working for someone else on their time and miss out on important life memories or I can give it all I got and create a business module that works for me, clients and other professionals.
