

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nick Mancini.
Hi Nick, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve always been a bit of a tech geek, and I’ve always enjoyed helping people. When I was a kid, I was the one all the neighbors asked to set up their VCRs — which were a new thing back then.
I discovered computer programming and business technology while attending CSUN in the mid-1980s and thrived on learning as much as I could. One of my professors was a consultant for a group tied to the 1984 LA Olympics and brought me on. Together, we developed custom software to manage security services. At that time, there was very little off-the-shelf software. In fact, Microsoft Windows 1.0 didn’t even exist yet.
That early experience cemented my love for technology and my drive to help people. It shaped the path of my career. In 2006, I founded The Tech Consultants in Woodland Hills, with a clear purpose: to provide clients with the best possible technology services and guidance, without ever compromising integrity.
We’re now in our 20th year, and what makes me proudest is the relationships we’ve built. We love our clients, and they love us back, because we’re honest, fair, and transparent. In fact, the vast majority of them have been with us for 15 years or more.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
We’ve grown organically from a two-person business when we started to a team of more than 20 today. Of course, it hasn’t always been easy. One of the biggest challenges has been hiring the right people. From the very beginning, I’ve wanted our culture to be centered on one principle: “always do the right thing for the client, without exception.” Finding teammates who share that vision can be difficult.
But today, I can confidently say I have the best team we’ve ever had. Every single person truly believes in that mantra of uncompromising customer service and satisfaction. And that’s why our customers stay loyal to us. We may not be the lowest-priced IT provider in town, but our clients know that we’ll always put their success first — and that’s what makes the relationship work.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We’re The Tech Consultants, or TTC for short. We provide what’s called Managed IT Services. Essentially, we become the technology department for businesses that need first-rate solutions but can’t justify the expense of hiring all the people it would normally take.
Every business today needs technology that’s stable, protected, and always up to date. To achieve that in-house, a company would have to hire experts across multiple disciplines, like networking, cybersecurity, cloud, AI, training, help desk, communications, compliance, and more. That can easily translate into several hundred thousand dollars in added payroll.
When a business works with us, they get access to all of those experts at a fraction of the cost. What we provide isn’t a luxury – it’s a necessity. In today’s environment, every business, no matter its size, needs the same level of stability, protection, and efficiency that large enterprises rely on. Without it, companies expose themselves to unnecessary risk, inefficiency, and lost opportunity. Our role is to make that enterprise-level technology and management accessible and affordable, so small and mid-sized businesses can operate with the same confidence, security, and innovation as the largest organizations.
For years, many small businesses have relied on a consultant – an individual they’ve trusted to handle their IT. While that worked in the past, it’s no longer sufficient. The complexity, pace, and risks of today’s technology environment demand a broader team with deeper expertise.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
For me, success comes down to two things: happy clients and happy employees. Nothing else really matters. If our clients feel supported and cared for, and our team feels valued and fulfilled, then everything else, growth, reputation, profitability, naturally follows.
