Today we’d like to introduce you to Nectar Landscape Design. They and their team shared their story with us below:
Neive Tierney and Stephanie Lin met in 2017 and became work besties. Neive went off on her own in 2019, from a large design firm to design residential gardens. In 2022, Stephanie joined her to launch Nectar Landscape Design. During the days of the pandemic, they would go on walks after work and talked about how important spending time in their gardens was to their mental health. The ability to connect to nature in your own backyard is one of the values that drives the company.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Landscape construction is naturally a bumpy road. We’re constantly learning and retuning the business and design practice. Never a dull moment.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about Nectar Landscape Design?
For our office, the sensory experiences of a garden are always highlighted. The smells and sounds, the feeling on your feet, and the sun on your skin are what make it a dynamic place where people can connect to nature every day.
Our gardens are designed with a simple philosophy in mind: Successful spaces are born from a collaboration with nature.
We take a holistic approach to landscape design. We work closely with clients to design a garden that fits their needs and fulfills their dreams — a quiet respite from the daily grind, a dynamic place to enjoy time with family and friends, or a space to connect with nature. We have a collaborative process, and every garden that comes out of that is unique.
We craft space into gardens that tend, restore, and reflect our clients’ true joys. Inspired by their passions and nature’s wisdom, we create spaces of restoration and revitalization to complement and awaken the everyday.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
We’ve have had so much support along the way, from colleagues to mentors who have established businesses. Our business has really benefited from the support of our clients, who have spread the word about Nectar and continue to share our joy for gardens.
Our biggest fans (aka husbands) have been there to support us and be there to listen to the ups and downs of being a small business owner.
