Today we’d like to introduce you to Nancy Nguyen.
Hi Nancy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started Polished DTLA over five years ago because there was a need of a LOCAL NAIL SALON in DTLA. Thru the years, we’ve built a community of clientele and a team of nail techs that have passion as equal to my goals. My goals has always been having LOVE in your industry. DTLA has the Vibe, individualism of the CITY and it’s all supported by our Local Community. This is the reason my salon has that energy and Zeal to always thrive to innovate in our nail services, techniques and products. BUT most of all, It’s all about TEAMWORK, amazing CLIENTS and a lot of good thankful energy. I can never say it was only built by me but everyone that made POLISHED DTLA the business it is.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Struggles ?!! That’s always on every business and industry. We had struggles with Covid -19 regulations, we had struggles building that ultimate team, we have struggles with the utmost difficult clients… BUT all these are moments when you know it shall pass and keeping that focus on the positives of life the Beauty of this business and to see the final finished design Achieved! I’m Honestly very thankful for being in DTLA in the HISTORIC CORE
As you know, we’re big fans of Polished Nail Bar DTLA. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We’re a nail salon in the heart of DTLA and we provide every type of nail services – from your regular manicure pedicures to the most Intricate detailed design requested. We use only the best brands like Apres Gel X, Young Nails, OPI, KUSH QUEEN and will not lower our quality. When it comes to service, customer care and technique skill set : all high priority.
We love being part of our COMMUNITY and thankful to our team and clientele. Hoping for new clients to experience our vibe and love in our nail services.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
My most important lesson I’ve learned in my journey is that BEAUTY is real! SELF CARE is real! During Covid and post Covid, I needed to appreciate things differently. Self care /beauty care really helped a lot of my clients after being deprived during the lockdown phases in LA county and this included myself. It also made me and my techs appreciate our nail industry more, as well. My biggest lesson is just gratitude and being thankful that I still have a business, and an amazing team, amazing clients and we’re healthy.
