Today we’d like to introduce you to Mike Corridori
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
The music series started in 2016. The year before I reached out to the National Park Service about the music series they were producing at Peter Strauss Ranch. I told them I loved the venue and wanted to help them bring something special to the venue that would attract people from all over southern California. We met, I gave them my plan and here we are.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The Woolsey fire destroyed the stage and the ranch house that we were using for the artist green room. It also destroyed the Mulholland bridge people used to access the ranch venue. We persevered the following year by turning a flat bed trailer into a stage and holding our concerts at nearby King Gillette Ranch. It was a lot of work to create a unique setting like we did and our audiences love it. I think that kind of solidified Tiny Porch Concerts as a concert producer and promoter.
During covid we did a bunch of online shows to keep people entertained when they were trapped at home. after covid we rebuilt the Peter Strauss Stage and it was like everything was back to normal.
We’ve been impressed with Tiny Porch Concerts, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Tiny Porch Concerts is best know for a Summer music series held at Peter Strauss Ranch in Agoura Hills. We offer a unique musical experience in a local national park. The park has a long history dating back to the early 20’s when it was purchased by an Indy Car manufacturer named Harry Miller. He liked to entertain and built a huge outdoor dance floor and stone amphitheater. After that it was turned into an amusement park called Lake Enchanto. Tiny Porch Concerts has continued this history of entertaining at the ranch through our music series. The series attracts people from all over Southern California. Our greatest accomplishment is bringing this old venue back to life. Musicians from all over the country are familiar with the venue and want to play here and see it for themselves. We did this by creating these magical musical experiences for both the artist and the audience and they can’t help but to tell their friends.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
we keep a really close relationship with our audience, so we have a really good idea of what they like and don’t like. We try to do the same with our artists. When we ask them to play we give them the history of the ranch and a lot of background on our audiences. That gives them a good idea of how they want to perform.
