Hi Michelle, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Owning a dance studio has always been my dream. I’ve been a dance teacher for almost 20 years, and after moving to LA, I found it challenging to discover a studio that felt like a true community. While I came close, it never quite aligned with my vision. In 2019 we moved to South Bay and found our forever home, this reignited my passion to finally create the kind of space I had always envisioned.
In late 2022, I launched Riviera Kids Club as a mobile kids’ camps and events company. After finishing the dance season where I was working, I fully committed, found a temporary location and started dance classes in the Fall of 2023. While dance is my passion, my dream studio has never been just a dance studio; I wanted RKC to be a place where kids can explore a variety of talents. Now that we have found a permanent location, we can also offer art and cooking classes. We continue to offer camps and events while actively searching for new activities for kids to explore, learn and grow. My goal has always been to build a welcoming space for families – a true community where children can grow and thrive.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I try not to focus too much on the bumps along the road, as giving them too much attention can drain your time and energy. Still, challenges like finding a permanent location and managing unexpected costs have been significant. Facing these obstacles directly is key to overcoming them and continuing to move forward.

At Riviera Kids Club, we offer a range of activities designed to spark creativity, build confidence, and foster a sense of community. Our core programs include dance through RKC Dance Academy, art, and cooking classes for toddlers, kids and teens. What makes us unique is our commitment to helping kids grow, not just in skill, but in character. We focus on teaching responsibility, respect, and discipline, all while making sure our students are having fun.
One of the things I’m most proud of is seeing our community grow – not just in size, but in strength and connection. Watching the positive changes in the kids, as their confidence shines through, is incredibly rewarding. That transformation is at the heart of what we do.
Riviera Kids Club is more than a place for extracurricular activities, it’s a community where children can explore, grow, thrive, and make lifelong friends.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
The biggest credit goes to my family, who have been my constant cheerleaders. They helped me get the business off the ground and donated their time to get our new studio ready for our clients. I also have to give credit to my incredible teachers, who bring great passion to their teaching and work tirelessly to support our students.
Finally, our clients deserve special recognition. They’ve put their trust in us and believe in what we do, helping to create the wonderful community we have. Without them, none of this would be possible. Their support has been vital in creating a space where kids can flourish creatively and socially.
