Community Highlights: Meet Melissa Chinchilla of Wild and Tame & Feast with Fiore

Today we’d like to introduce you to Melissa Chinchilla.

Hi Melissa, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Our journey began in our own backyard. We wanted more than just a garden—we wanted a living compass. A space where food could grow, beauty could thrive, and spirit could be nourished. What started as a personal reclamation project turned into Wild & Tame, our garden installation and outdoor styling brand. We now help others create sanctuaries that are both functional and spiritual—designed to grow food, foster connection, and align with nature’s rhythm.

As our land began to bloom, so did our vision. With years of experience in hospitality, design, and lifestyle branding, we launched Feast with Fiore—a floral-forward food brand inspired by the abundance we were cultivating. From styled graze tables and catering to edible rituals and seasonal drops, it’s where flavor meets ceremony.

Together, these brands form a quiet cult of beauty—rooted in land, designed with soul, and built to turn everyday living into art.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road. We’re a family-run company, which means we’ve had to navigate the beautiful (and sometimes bumpy) balance between shared vision and individual growth. In the beginning, we expanded quickly—fueled by passion and momentum—but eventually had to strip everything back to the bare bones to realign with the true spirit of our businesses.

That reset was both humbling and essential. It taught us to lead with intention, not urgency. Now we’re building from a place of clarity and integrity, proud to grow at a pace that honors both our work and our well-being.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Wild and Tame & Feast with Fiore?
We’re building a living brand ecosystem—where land, ritual, and beauty intersect. Our two core brands, Wild & Tame and Feast with Fiore, began as personal experiments in living more beautifully and intentionally. What started as a desire to transform our home into a sanctuary became a blueprint for others to do the same.

Wild & Tame is our garden installation and outdoor styling brand, helping people grow food, beautify their land, and reconnect with nature as a compass. From native gardens to edible landscapes, we create environments that nourish both the body and spirit.

Feast with Fiore bloomed from that abundance. It’s our punk-meets-petal catering concept, blending farm-fresh produce with fashion-forward styling. We specialize in floral-forward grazing boards, edible rituals, and seasonal drop-offs—offering everything from charcuterie carts to celebration tables, all delivered with maximalist joy and a wink of rebellion.

What sets us apart is that nothing we do is surface-level. Every board, bloom, and build is rooted in story. We don’t just offer services—we create altars: for food, for land, for memory.

Together, these brands form a quiet cult following—a creative micro-universe built from our home, our family, and our deep belief in beauty as a spiritual act.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I’d call myself a delusional optimist with a visionary streak. I tend to jump before I have all the answers—driven by intuition, creative fire, and a belief that purpose reveals itself midair. That mindset has shaped my life and my businesses. I didn’t have a roadmap when we turned our yard into a food sanctuary and launched Wild & Tame. I just knew we needed to live differently—and that others might want the same.

Starting Feast with Fiore was another leap. We went from harvest to hospitality, infusing punk, petals, and ritual into a food brand with no traditional blueprint. At times, the risks were costly—financially, emotionally, energetically. We grew too fast, hit burnout, and had to strip things down to their essence.

But those detours gave me something more valuable than stability: they sharpened my internal compass. Risk taught me resourcefulness, pattern recognition, and deep listening. I’ve learned to co-create with faith and follow the cues of both spirit and strategy. Risk is still scary—but for me, it’s always been the birthplace of beauty and true originality.
