Margie Humbert

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
First, I would like to say thank you to VoyageLA for giving me the opportunity to share my story with your readers.

After graduating High School and attending a year of college, I wanted to get to work! I had a few years of uninspiring jobs and then found the job of my dreams at Warner Bros. Records in Burbank. I had a managerial position in the company’s International Dept. handling artist publicity and music videos. My main task was to oversee and distribute the videos to our Warner affiliates around the world for their various music channels including MTV International for exclusive worldwide premieres. At that time, we worked with major artists on the label, including Prince, Madonna, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Green Day, Neil Young, Alanis Morisette, kd lang, Depeche Mode, Fleetwood Mac, R.E.M. and many more. Music has always been a huge passion of mine and I loved my many years with the Company. It was a very exciting time in the music business and working there had many perks, which included meeting the artists, concerts, CDs, attending awards shows/events, and making many great friends that are like family to me now. After eleven great years with Warner, I left the company and made the decision to be at home full-time for my family and two young children. Life was busy and fulfilling and I was fortunate that I was able to stop working and be fully present for my children.

Fast forward many years, the children were now adults, there were some personal life changes and we were also hit with a worldwide pandemic. I decided to use that time to get my real estate license as it was time for me to get back to work. Another passion of mine has always been homes and real estate, so getting my license made sense. I’ve always been a little obsessed with beautiful homes and architecture and I also love to renovate older homes (I’ve done several) so it’s a dream job for me. The Spanish-style home is my personal all-time favorite, and to me, it is also the quintessential Southern California lifestyle. Walking through these many beautiful homes is a real treat and is always inspiring to me.

After being a solo agent for a year which was challenging, I joined a great real estate team, The Marc Hernandez Group at Compass, Beverly Hills.  I am excited and thrilled to be a part of this supportive and experienced group of agents while I continue to learn the business and grow my brand with this amazing team. I feel fortunate once again, that I get to do something I love and feel passionate about with great people who I now also consider to be friends.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road exactly, but it has been rewarding. Getting my real estate license during a pandemic felt risky and a little scary. We’ve watched the housing market go through incredible highs and lows recently. Being a real estate agent is not easy and success does not usually happen quickly. Starting a new chapter at this point in my life has taken a lot of hard work and discipline and there have been hurdles. At the same time, I feel like things are falling into place as they should and the hard work will be worth it in the long run.

We’ve been impressed with The Marc Hernandez Group, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Not all real estate agents are alike.

The Marc Hernandez Group is a real estate team with Compass Beverly Hills. We are a group of professional licensed real estate agents that work with sellers and buyers. We handle all real estate and we specialize in the luxury real estate market. Our team covers the wider Los Angeles area and beyond. The MHG has a 95% win rate on multiple offer scenarios through our proven process. We work with our clients every step of the way to make the buying/selling process as smooth as possible and we help them feel confident placing their care and trust in our hands. Our client’s needs always come first.

How do you think about luck?
I believe that good luck is just good energy and that we attract that energy with positive thinking. My positive mindset has generally served me well in life. I think anything can be accomplished with the right thoughts and some hard work.
