Community Highlights: Meet Mallory Molinski of Beverly Bond PR

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mallory Molinski.

Hi Mallory, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
To make a long story short, I studied law in college and wanted to become a sports and entertainment attorney. After working with a few attorneys, I quickly realized I needed more creativity and socialization in my career. Through a friend, I fell into a job at Tory Burch (retail) and became a PR intern at the company. After years of working with the company, I became a VIP assistant and absolutely loved the brand! From there, I went to a start-up called Sonix, specializing in fashion-forward tech accessories – I developed a PR program and loved the team there – but after four years I knew it was time to branch out on my own. In 2018, I took a huge risk leaving my 9-5 and creating Beverly Bond PR. With one client on my roster, I began operations out of my home, and here we are six years later! My agency has clients ranging from fashion to beauty to hospitality. We have a beautiful showroom in West Hollywood and manage everything from pitching and gifting to events and partnerships.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I don’t think any founder or entrepreneur could honestly say that developing your own path and building out your own company is a smooth road. Through six years of business development, of course we have hit rough patches, but a lot of this includes so many valuable learning lessons for me as an entrepreneur. I think the hardest initial struggle was losing my first client. It can make you feel worthless and question why you do what you do, but after that initial shock, you move on and soon enough meet new incredible clients that fill that void. There is also the constant developmental process of overall, learning how to run a business. Everything from payroll, taxes, back-end setup to marketing, scaling growth, etc. I have learned so much, but it took a lot of work and sleepless nights to get here. I think another “struggle” we all have as entrepreneurs is learning how to fail. Without failure, there is no growth. I can truly say that I am finally in a place where I am gentle with my attitude toward myself, if a mistake is made, I learn, if one idea doesn’t work I quickly pivot to another. Again, it took years to get to this place but I would not have it any other way.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Beverly Bond PR is a full-service fashion, lifestyle and hospitality firm that specializes in public relations and marketing services for emerging and established brands. Our Public Relations division works with brands across five verticals; VIP, Influencer, Editorial, Event Management and Special Projects. Our Marketing division develops overarching marketing strategies for clients including Social Media Management, Email Marketing, Website Optimization, Campaign Ideation and much more!

We started as a more traditional fashion PR agency and quickly evolved into a lifestyle agency. I love that we don’t have one speciality. Not only do we offer more traditional services like press pitching, desk-sides, celebrity seeding, and related, but we also develop impactful digital campaigns, assist with brand ideation and social strategy, and take a step outside ourselves to see what our clients truly need and the most unique, hands-on and intentional way to get them there. We are also so focused on relationships. To me, it is everything. We want our clients to feel like family, and the same goes to the stylists, editors, tastemakers and other contacts we work with day in and day out.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
A few things I would share from an entrepreneurial standpoint is to never give up. At the top of every mountain is the base of another. You are never going to have everything right, you are never going to make everyone happy, but as long as you are evolving, giving it your all, and working towards your goals, everything will work out. Also, you can’t wait for things to happen for you, you have to go out into the world and put yourself out there – go to more events and network, setup coffee and dinner dates with contacts to genuinely learn more about them and connect on a deeper level, and this may sound corny…but be kind. We all get this idea in the PR industry that image is everything, but at the end of the day, it’s so important to treat each other with respect and support one another.
