Hi Lucretia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my Career in the Beauty industry back in 2004. I took some time off from the industry, but my passion for it brought me back. I have always had a love for the Beauty industry. Fast forward, here we are with me owning my own beauty lounge. My business Glow Beauty Lounge means everything to me. I wanted to create a space that catered to every beauty need. I offer a list of services that include Ombré powder brows, Lash Extensions, Facials, and other skincare services. I also have private beauty suites available for rent for other boss babes in the beauty industry. I love empowering other women. I’m incredibly thankful.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road at all. Starting a business and building your clientele has its set of challenges for sure. They say the first few years are the hardest, but if it’s truly your passion you keep going and never give up. So, keep doing the work and give it your all; sometimes you don’t see the reward right away but trust me, it’s coming.
We’ve been impressed with Glow Beauty Lounge, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the owner of Glow Beauty Lounge, located in West Hollywood, California. I provide beauty services, and I also have private suites available to rent for other beauty professionals. I specialize in Permanent Makeup, Lash Extensions, and skincare services. My skincare services aren’t limited to just the face. I also provide Vajacials which is a facial for your intimate area. A lot of women struggle with ingrown hairs, hyperpigmentation, and breakouts in that area. The benefits of a vajacial include removing dead skin cells, smoothing bumps around the bikini line, preventing acne, and helping with hyperpigmentation, all to maintain healthy glowing skin. What sets Glow Beauty Lounge apart from others is that we cater to all of your beauty needs under one roof. When creating my Lounge, I wanted to create a peaceful space for women and men to come and relax while enjoying their service. I’m most proud of seeing the shift in our client’s confidence after their services; it’s so rewarding to put a smile on their face. It’s the best feeling ever.
We’d love to hear about what you think about risk-taking.
I have always lived on the side of caution, and I have never been much of a risk-taker. One of the biggest risks I have taken was quitting my 9-5 to start my business. It’s scary walking away from a consistent paycheck to Pursue your passion. This past year has taught me so much about myself. I’ve learned that sometimes you can’t play it safe, and it’s ok to take risk as long as you’re not hurting yourself or anyone else in the process.
