Community Highlights: Meet Lisa Callahan of Transformation for Real

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Callahan.

Lisa Callahan

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My coaching career started in Chicago in 2004 when I began working for Weight Watchers. I loved helping people learn how to have a healthy relationship with food while also hitting their health goals.

In 2017, when we moved to Los Angeles, I decided I wanted to keep doing this work but to go out on my own, so I got my Health and Life Coaching certification from The Health Coach Institute and opened Transformation for Real as a Health Coach.

In 2018 I continued on with my education and became a Master Coach, transitioning my practice to focus more on helping women have a life they are fully in love with. The Health Coach Institute hired me to coach in their Mastery Program, where I worked with coaches to help them build their business both from an outer game perspective, creating their offering and marketing it, as well as an inner game perspective, working through limiting beliefs and “Imposter Syndrome.” I loved that work so much that I once again transitioned Transformation for Real into supporting dynamic women leaders who want to shatter glass ceilings and make a big impact on the world. In all these iterations of Transformation for Real, one thing has stayed the same: I help my clients create a fun and easy path to success by first becoming their own biggest fan.

In 2023, I co-created a podcast with my co-host Kari Morin called “The Things We Know,” which is an extension of my coaching work. Helping women understand they are not alone, and the best is yet to come. We are in Season 2 and held our first in-person retreat, “The Best Chapter Yet,” in Jan 2024. Our next retreat will be in the fall in Chicago.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Oh my gosh, I can’t lie. I am pretty confident, so I have not exactly struggled. When I put my mind to something, I work through all the challenges to make it happen. I suppose one challenge was initially wondering where I would find my clients, being new to Los Angeles. In the beginning, I really worked my contacts back in the Midwest (I grew up in Ohio and lived in Chicago for 20 years) until I was able to establish myself and get a network in LA that could help me build my business. I have been very fortunate, from the beginning, to have strong support from my husband and two kids, as well as old and new friends.

As you know, we’re big fans of Transformation for Real. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
I am a Business Life Coach, and I work with dynamic women leaders who have brilliant ideas and are ready to shatter ceilings to make a big impact. I partner with them to create a fun and easy path to success by first helping them become their own biggest fan. I do that by using my superpower which is I believe in you until you believe until you believe in you.

My specialty is working with both the inner and outer game, which is why I call myself a Business Life Coach versus just a Business Coach. The women I work with have amazing opportunities as entrepreneurs or as leaders in their organizations, and I help them break through any limiting beliefs that they don’t deserve it or aren’t qualified for it, or they are “just lucky to be there.” So, along with helping them get clear on their message and how to market themselves or their business, I make sure to support them to have a well-rounded life, where they are taking care of themselves first and filling their cup so they can serve their clients or their organization from the overflow.

I do not take credit for my client’s success; they do the work I am just happily on their team. I am proud of the work my clients do. They always come out the other side stronger, more confident, and ready to tackle whatever comes their way.

If you are interested in understanding what it would be like to work with me, you can schedule a complimentary call with me. There is absolutely no obligation. I believe the right people work with me at the right time. But when our call is over, you will definitely know what your next step is to have the life, career, or business you are fully in love with. You can also listen to my podcast “The Things We Know” to hear amazing stories and guests who are here to make sure you are know you are not the only one going through the things women go through and, no matter what age you are, the best is still yet to come.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
My belief in myself has been the number one driver of my success. When I decided to transition into being an entrepreneur instead of working for someone else, many people questioned my choice. I knew without a shadow of a doubt that it would all work out. I also have the ability to not be attached to the way something “has to” happen. My journey with Transformation for Real hasn’t been exactly what I pictured in 2017 and that is ok. It has been exactly right!

That confidence and the ability to see the forest for the trees is something that I really hold for my clients until they are ready to hold it for themselves.
