Today we’d like to introduce you to Len May
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My story is one of overcoming obstacles and forging my own path. Born in Lithuania under Soviet rule, I immigrated to Philadelphia with my family at the age of seven. Language barriers and the cultural climate during the US-Soviet tensions made it a challenging transition. Diagnosed with ADD, I felt stifled by medication and yearned for focus. Ironically, cannabis, initially encountered through peer pressure, became my solution.
However, cannabis use led to a strained relationship with my parents, culminating in me being kicked out. This hardship became the seed of my future advocacy.
Fueled by a belief in the therapeutic potential of cannabis, I became president of the Cannabis Action Network and later owned dispensaries in LA. Yet, my true passion was scientific exploration. In 2017, I launched EndoDNA to unlock the plant’s medicinal potential.
We have expanded that into precision wellness starting with DNA into a personalized interactive treatment plan utilizing AI for true precision wellness for many conditions including male and female hormone health, nutrients, minerals and vitamins, skin, mental health, and many others.
My journey hasn’t been smooth sailing. From experiencing homelessness to a challenging divorce, I’ve faced adversity. Through it all, I’ve learned that adaptability, persistence, and perseverance are the keys to resilience. Success is a rollercoaster, and embracing discomfort allows you to navigate the lows with determination.
Entrepreneurship has been a constant thread since childhood. Even failures have been valuable lessons, offering more knowledge than successes. Each venture, from lemonade stands at 12 to dispensaries in LA, has been a stepping stone.
Mental and physical well-being are crucial for navigating the demanding world of business. Hiking, for me, is a way to achieve a flow state, that sweet spot where mind and body connect. Whether it’s physical activity or another method, finding ways to manage stress is essential.
Finally, strong relationships are the secret sauce of success. Collaboration, navigating interpersonal challenges, and building a support network are all parts of the journey. Success is a collective effort, and fostering positive connections is the fuel that propels us forward.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Life threw punches early on. Born in a different country and immigrating with little money, we found furniture in the trash and that’s how we lived. Living with ADD presents the world in a completely different way than the average person because your brain is always looking for that next shot of dopamine.
Then came the irony. Cannabis became my refuge, a controversial choice that strained my relationship with my parents. They, ironically, now use cannabis-based formulations for their ailments.
Kicked out for my cannabis use, I faced homelessness, a harsh lesson that ignited my future advocacy.
Success hasn’t been a straight shot. I felt like I didn’t fit the norm. Working in corporate America, I kept feeling there was something more. I also faced a lot of betrayal from business partners, friends, and family. From navigating barriers in business to the lows of a challenging divorce, obstacles became stepping stones. Each struggle honed my resilience – the ability to adapt, persist, and persevere through life’s curveballs.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love the mix of nature, culinary delights, and cultural attractions.
Start the day with a morning hike to embrace the beautiful weather. Options include Fryman Canyon or Runyon Canyon for a local hike, or Zuma Canyon in Malibu for stunning ocean views. After the hike, take a leisurely walk down to the beach. Enjoy the sun, sand, and the soothing sound of the ocean waves. It’s a perfect way to unwind. Head to Reel Inn for lunch, a laid-back seafood spot that captures the essence of coastal living. Savor fresh seafood while taking in the ocean breeze. For dinner, indulge in the culinary scene at one of my favorite restaurants. Options include Crossroads, Salti Girl, Matsuhisu, or the iconic Nobu in Malibu for a fantastic dining experience.
This state is amazing for road trips. Embark on a day trip to Morro Bay, a charming coastal town, and visit the historic Hearst Castle. Explore the castle’s opulent architecture and beautiful gardens.
Attend a live concert at the iconic Hollywood Bowl, an experience that combines music, culture, and the enchanting outdoor setting.
Explore the cultural scene with visits to renowned museums. The Broad and the Grammy museums offer diverse exhibits and showcase the rich artistic heritage of the city.
This curated itinerary captures the essence of Los Angeles – from the natural beauty of canyons and beaches to the vibrant culinary and cultural scene that the city has to offer.
