Community Highlights: Meet Lauren Holmes of Corl West

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Holmes.

Hi Lauren, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I became interested in UX design in 2015 when I started working as a designer at a startup in the web and VR space. I loved using empathy to create experiences that both catered to the user and integrated a company’s business model. Five years later, I started my business, Corl West, to help companies create immersive experiences for users on their websites, apps, and software.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Life isn’t quite as exciting without the bumps! I started my business during the beginning of the pandemic and it was indeed different. Networking went from meeting in person to meeting via apps and zoom. It was definitely difficult, but it allowed me to see how open people were to helping others during such a stressful time.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Corl West?
Corl West is a UI/UX Design Agency that helps businesses create immersive experiences to book, explore, sign up, and purchase goods online. So many businesses can benefit from great user experience design and I’m excited to help more businesses cater to their user’s needs and solve problems differently.

What are your plans for the future?
I’m hoping that as travel opens back up again, we can help businesses take on and manage the new influx of travelers that will be coming. It’s my favorite industry and I’m looking forward to seeing them succeed.
