Hi jess, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
The Los Angeles Cooking School is a boutique cooking school located in the heart of the helms district. Formerly known as the New School of Cooking, we’ve been in the space since 2001. Our mission at the Los Angeles Cooking School is to inspire creativity, confidence and connection in the kitchen. We provide a supportive environment where cooking is accessible, fun and inclusive for all students, regardless of their skill level. Through hands-on classes and workshops, our instructors teach fundamental techniques using seasonal ingredients to empower students with a solid foundation and a life-long love of cooking.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. Most recently, Covid really impacted business, but we have been working to build back our community by offering an variety of new classes.

We are a boutique cooing school offering recreational cooking classes covering a wide array of topics to all experience levels. We want our students to feel confident in the kitchen, to learn skills and techniques so they can enjoy cooking for their loved ones. Whether you are a beginner or experienced cook, our classes cater to all levels and interests, covering a vast range of topics from knife skills and comfort food to fish cooking and baking.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
At The Los Angeles Cooking School we’re dedicated to providing an exceptional experience in a supportive, hands-on learning environment with our experienced teachers and small class sizes. We are committed to supporting our local farmers markets, using seasonal produce. Our diverse list of classes offers something for every interest and skill level.
