Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Guevara
Hi Jennifer, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Jennifer Guevara. I am a chemical engineer with a love for energy work.
I started my business, La Luna Enamorada, LLC, at the end of 2020. La Luna Enamorada was born from my own need to manage anxiety and stress. I didn’t grow up meditating with crystals or learning about energy balancing. Coming from a very traditional Hispanic background, we were taught to deal with anxiety by staying busy and taking on more work—ugh! Unfortunately, this also meant I didn’t have the tools to handle extreme stress. High stress became my norm.
My husband and I had our first child at 18. We were constantly trying to juggle making a living, going to school, and raising a child. My breaking point came in 2020. My high school senior missed out on activities because of COVID, the warehouse I managed and loved was shutting down, and our four-year-old was struggling to navigate isolation. It was overwhelming, to say the least.
During my toughest moments, I began taking medication to help me cope. Over time, I realized the medication was only a temporary fix for something deeper that needed healing. Through research into holistic approaches, I stumbled upon crystal energetics. Almost immediately, I noticed shifts within myself and in my world.
For me, crystals became a tool for greater self-awareness and focus. They played a key role in fostering a healthier relationship with myself and those around me. During this period, I also became a Holy Fire Reiki Master, further deepening my healing journey.
Originally, my business started as a hobby, making crystal bracelets while working my 9-to-5 job. My first customers were primarily family and friends. Eventually, I worked up the courage to start vending at craft markets on weekends, where I shared my experiences, handmade crystal bracelets, and other items. It has been incredibly fulfilling to share my story and help others on their healing journeys.
In 2023, the IT project work I was involved in came to an end. At a crossroads, I decided to take a leap of faith. On October 28, 2023, my family and I opened our storefront in Rancho Cucamonga. Our mission is to provide a safe community space for everyone to heal and evolve into the best version of themselves.
In our store, you’ll find a wide variety of crystals and crystal jewelry. We specialize in custom beaded bracelets and offer a large selection of other crystal jewelry to adorn yourself and your home. We’re also thrilled to offer engraving options for our permanent jewelry collection!
On weekends, we typically host events like Reiki circles, sound baths, tarot readings, and paint-and-sip gatherings. I also offer Reiki sessions and tarot readings, and you can check my availability on my website. We’re so excited to continue growing and sharing this journey with our community!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Opening and managing the storefront has been the most challenging part of owning the business so far. During this time, the saying from my alma mater, Cal Poly Pomona, came back to strengthen my resolve: ‘Learn by doing.’ That’s exactly what I did to get our store up and running. I stumbled through countless obstacles and had to learn quickly. There’s so much to navigate when opening a store, and at times it felt overwhelming trying to figure it all out.
I’m incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by many strong female entrepreneurs and professionals. Their support and guidance have been invaluable throughout this first year with the store.
On a more personal level, I’ve come to embrace the duality within myself. For a long time, I struggled to reconcile my love for science and structure with the more spiritual aspects of who I am. I’ve finally accepted that I don’t need to fit into anyone else’s idea of identity—and that there’s no ‘right’ way to be. My journey to accepting my dual nature has deepened my commitment to creating a space where others can also explore and embrace every aspect of who they are. Whether through Reiki, crystal jewelry, or community events, I want people to feel safe discovering their own path—whether it’s spiritual, scientific, or somewhere in between.
We’ve been impressed with La Luna Enamorada, LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I handcraft all of our in-store beaded necklaces and bracelets, and we’re always expanding our offerings and events. One of my favorite events is our Geode Troll Workshops, designed especially for our younger customers. Check out my Instagram highlights to see how creative the kids can get!
Reiki sessions—both one-on-one and in groups—have also been incredibly meaningful to me. Guiding clients through some of the toughest moments of their lives is deeply rewarding.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
The only person who can truly stand in your way is you. While others will always have opinions about what you do, it’s up to you to protect your power and stay true to your path. Trust yourself—only you know what’s best for your life. Most importantly, surround yourself with people who uplift you, believe in you, and genuinely want to see you thrive. Your journey is yours to shape, so step forward with confidence and let your light shine.
