Today we’d like to introduce you to Jayne Trimble
Hi Jayne, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I trained as a classical actress in London, UK in my early 20’s- I always had a penchant for performing. I couldn’t get any work as an actress but decided to give music a shot after I met a singer called Mary Epworth on the set of Harry Potter who asked me to be her backing vocalist for a few gigs. I loved it so much that I decided to give the music thing a go myself. I started taking guitar lessons, learned how to use garagband and then started writing some songs. I hit all the open mic nights- even had a fling Ed Sheeran who was an unknown a the time- and after a terrible tragedy where one of my dear friends and acting buddies took his own life, I decided to sell everything I own and move to Nashville. It was there I met my ex husband, backstage at The Ryman Auditorium and I followed him back to Canada, where he is from. We lived in Vancouver and that’s where I started my recording studio which then developed in to a label called World Peach Records. That was in 2015. I toured Canada with a rock and roll band called The Deep Dark Woods, recorded with Damien Jurado, got nominated for a Canadian Folk Music Award, and had my songs placed in film and TV. I achieved alot and moved to LA a few years ago after I got my O1. I am living my dream. I wrote on a dollar bill with my eye liner after a visit here in my early 20’s- ‘GO TO LA’. I’m 41 now and I knew back then that this is where I am meant to be. Dreams take time sometimes.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Hell no it hasn’t. I’ve been a broke artist all my life until now. I sacrificed alot. I’m not sure if its entirely because of music, but I didn’t start a family like all of my peers did. I’m now on my own fertility journey to see if that’s still even a possibility for me now, But NONE of it was easy. I ate alot of humble pie, Had a heck of alot of set-backs and just put my time in. Now I’m unstoppable.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Last year I was interviewed about my label World Peach Records- it was a really cool interview with a show on Rogers TV in Canada. I had this hunch on the way home to email the producer and tell her I wanted to host my own TV show called The Empower Women Show. She loved the idea and the rest is history. I am now the host and producer of The Empower Women Show with Rogers TV in Saskatchewan. I want to use the platform to elevate and empower women in the community by sharing their story and showcasing their businesses. You can watch the show on Rogers TV Tuesday nights at 7pm or on the YouTube channel @theempowerwomenshow, and I am looking for a network in the States to take it on, as well as for sponsors if anyone reading this is interested.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Self Knowledge. I have alot of it because none of this was given to me. I worked hard to get it, including on myself. They say happiness is an inside job. I believe success is too.
