Community Highlights: Meet Isaac Rau of Proactive SEO Solutions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Isaac Rau.

Hi Isaac, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started in digital marketing at an eCommerce company in 1999 in Santa Monica, CA, which is the same city I was born and raised in. This was my introduction to affiliate marketing and graphic design. It was immediately apparent how few businesses were taking full advantage of product sales and client acquisition via the internet and how promising this relatively new vehicle was.

I then moved to a digital marketing agency in 2000 and I had the pleasure to work closely with two ground-floor employees at Google when they were a less than 100-employee company. I took part in the first-ever Google Ads (then called AdWords) campaign occurring in the travel vertical and have been heavily involved in their ad platform ever since.

Additionally, we were doing search engine optimization for travel, clothing and enterprise software websites to increase their organic traffic from Google, and even LookSmart, Ask Jeeves and Alta Vista. Of course, now most of SEO is geared towards Google, but in the early days, there was a little more parity amongst the search engines.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The biggest challenge within the digital marketing industry is educating the client to be able to see what is being done and not only show the results but governing expectations while making them understand that this is a process that takes six to twelve months to net the results they are seeking.

Basically, this is not a process that gives you “immediate gratification” but rather achieving long-term steady results that are sustainable over time.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Proactive SEO Solutions?
Early in my career, it quickly became apparent that one of the most underserved verticals was in the medical and dental professions. After the realization that search engine optimization would greatly help these professions expand their practices, we saw how the power of social media and reputation management would help patients with their doctors on a more human level in order to establish trust and help lead to a new patient appointment.

Today, I am the CEO of Proactive SEO Solutions, which is a digital marketing agency serving Los Angeles, Orange County, and clients around the nation, providing lead-generating SEO, revenue-minded PPC, dynamic web design, and an overall plan-of-attack to elevate businesses. Proactive SEO Solutions has helped over 750 businesses since 2010, including over 300 doctors and dentists.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
​​It is paramount to understand that every time you change something on your website, it requires a number of areas to be mindful of including smartphone compatibility, landing page quality scores, even HIPAA and SEC compliance for clients in medical and finance, respectively.
