Today we’d like to introduce you to Hallie Young
Hi Hallie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Hallie Young, and I’m a certified fitness trainer and public health professional with a passion for helping others live happier, healthier lives. I discovered my love for fitness in 2016, after struggling with fatigue, low confidence, and stress for years. The gym became a safe haven and growth space for me, and I knew that I wanted to help others experience the same transformation. Simultaneously, I was working in nonprofits to increase equity for children and families and began to see health as the foundation for human thriving. I decided to pursue my Master’s in Public Health and becoming a certified trainer so that I could make our systems more conducive to wellbeing while equipping individuals to take control of their health. Since then I have worked in nonprofit, public, and corporate settings building population health programs. I have also helped countless individuals get active through personal training programs and group fitness classes. I now offer workout classes and virtual programs, wellness workshops, and consulting on social impact and public health projects.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Entrepreneurship is never a smooth road. I am learning lessons and facing challenges every day. I find real power in community and mutual support and being in LA it can be hard to bring people together. My goal this year is to keep creating safe spaces for people to move their bodies & show up for themselves/each other, because I feel like we all really need that right now.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I founded my business with the goal of getting more people active. Movement is key to our physical, mental, social, and emotional health. We often don’t realize how much of our life can be changed by moving our bodies. I specialize in strength training because it has endless benefits (prevents illness, helps you age slower, improves brain function, etc.) but ultimately my goal is to help more people across the world move their bodies more frequently.
What sets me apart as a trainer and public health professional is my focus on individualized care and holistic wellness. I believe that health is about more than just exercise and nutrition – it’s about addressing the unique needs of each client, including their mental health, stress levels, and sleep habits. My expertise in public health has also given me a deep understanding of the social determinants of health and how to create sustainable behavior change. I know we are products of our environment and I also know we are more powerful than we realize. I would describe my approach to training as “compassionate coaching.” I believe in holding my clients accountable while also nurturing their unique abilities to become their best, confident selves.
What does success mean to you?
Success to me is positively impacting lives.
