

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hakim Soltani.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Started back during the pandemic. I had lost my job like many others. During that time, I struggled like every other American. During the pandemic, I was back and forth with LA and the Philadelphia area, where I am from originally. Since there weren’t any steady jobs during that time period. I decided to enroll into school for a business program back in early 2021. I had obtained an undergrad degree in criminal justice and decided to enlighten myself with economics and basic structure of entrepreneurship. While I was enrolled, I had a part-time job working as a laborer in a construction company. In my early years of working, I was a security guard at the Local stadium that is where my love for security started. As I completed my associate’s in business management, I started to understand the ins and outs of running a business. With what I learned, working aside my boss and tying that to what I was learning in the program. I decided to open my own security company in Los Angeles. I started my company in 2022, starting with security guards for events and staffing as well for other security companies. That is when I realized that security in LA had many problems. Such as affordability, convenience, and overall accountability. I was upset with how there was a stigma for security in the LA area. As well as crime, which was going up astronomically fast! At that time, I decided that my security company will be first of its kind. Giving a vital shock to the security industry here in LA by allowing everyone to have access to security regardless of rich or poor. We offered guards that work for us better pay than most companies can offer. On top of that, our mission was to make security affordable for all budgets and to show everyone in LA that security guards are helpful, kind, and professional. As time went on, that formula started to work well, and we are here today within the 2nd year we grew almost 125% from since we started our first fiscal year. Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There was plenty of obstacles and still many more to overcome. For example, the fees to become a legitimate Security company, such as PPO and POS license to operate which have to be renewed bi-yearly. Keeping up with the logistics of running a business itself is a challenge. Also marketing our company to target the right audience depending on the objective. To build from 0 to 78 clients that return within a year is hard, but it is all with the process. Imagine how many security companies have been in LA and dominated the security scene for years. To come in and compete against companies that had 30-40 years of experience and are known is very challenging. But the way we operate has allowed us to go head-to-head with some of the biggest competitors. We are a small business also that just wants to provide affordable security for the community as well as jobs for them!
We’ve been impressed with Soltani Security, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a Security company that provides affordable solutions for the community. Allowing everyone to have security accessible regardless of status. We specialize in event security, such as weddings, birthdays, parties, pop-up events, etc., as well as residential and commercial security. What sets us apart is our prices and efficiency. Most companies take about 24 hours to respond with an official quote we can give a quote within 3 mins of conversation. Usually, our prices are lower than most our competitors. Also, we treat every one of our customers with dignity and respect. So, when they reach out and speak to us, they feel as if they are a part of us. To be honest, what I am most proud of in our brand is the support we get from our community. by ensuring a safe community for everyday business activity. Something I’d like the readers to know is I am first generation American that comes from immigrant parents that raised me to be what I am today since I was young; I always wanted help make a positive difference in the world we all love and cherish today.
