Today we’d like to introduce you to Dyamon White.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
It all began while working as a Member Services Representative at the YMCA. I realized how much I enjoyed connecting with people, helping them navigate life’s challenges, and simply being a supportive presence. I loved making people feel seen and valued.
When I began college, I initially veered away from becoming a counselor because of concerns about compensation. I shifted toward the medical field and pursued occupational therapy—but life had other plans. The path didn’t pan out, and ultimately, life brought me right back to where my heart had always been: supporting others through their personal growth and healing.
After moving from Chicago to Los Angeles, I began working with the homeless population—a deeply transformative experience that shaped my passion for serving vulnerable communities. Then, everything shifted again when I became a mom of three, including a set of twins. That season of life pushed me to reevaluate my direction and find a career that aligned with both my purpose and my family life.
That’s what led me to develop my own private practice and create Becoming a Better Her—a space where I can support individuals and women across California in meaningful, empowering ways. My journey hasn’t been linear, but it’s been deeply authentic—and I carry that same compassion, flexibility, and realness into the work I do every day.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My biggest challenge was finding what truly worked for me—personally and professionally.
I was working at The People Concern, where I had the opportunity to grow and thrive. I was promoted twice—first to Program Manager, then to Assistant Director. I loved the work, especially the chance to lead and support others in meaningful ways. Leadership came naturally to me, and I poured my heart into it.
But something shifted when my family grew—from a family of three to a family of five. I became a mom of three, including twins, and with that beautiful change came the need to reevaluate everything. While I still loved the work, I found myself struggling to navigate leadership and family life in the way I once could.
That’s when I began to consider a new path—one that would allow me to lead in a different way, with more flexibility and alignment. The idea of opening my own private practice was both exciting and terrifying. It took time to build the courage. But eventually, I did—and I’m so glad I followed through.
Now, not only do I have the privilege of serving others through therapy, but I’ve also created Becoming a Better Her, a community-centered program where women can grow, heal, and rediscover their strength—just as I’ve done in my own journey.
As you know, we’re big fans of Becoming a Better Her. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Becoming a Better Her is more than a women’s group—it’s a supportive, intentional community where women come together to grow, heal, and thrive. We specialize in empowering women through structured group sessions that focus on personal development, self-discovery, and emotional resilience. Our program is rooted in compassion, authenticity, and a belief that every woman deserves the space to become her best self—without shame, fear, or judgment.
What sets us apart is our holistic, heart-centered approach. We don’t just talk about empowerment—we guide women through it with actionable tools, therapeutic exercises, peer support, and reflective practices that create real change. From cultivating confidence to building healthy relationships and achieving life balance, each session is designed to meet women where they are and walk with them toward where they want to be.
We are proud to be known for creating safe spaces where women feel seen, heard, and celebrated. Our brand stands on the belief that becoming better isn’t about perfection—it’s about being intentional, courageous, and connected.
In addition to our group work, I also offer individual therapy services for women who are seeking more personalized support. Whether you’re navigating trauma, life transitions, stress, or want to deepen your self-awareness, individual sessions provide a private and tailored space to explore, heal, and grow.
We want readers to know that whether you’re navigating transition, healing from hardship, or simply looking to reconnect with yourself, Becoming a Better Her offers a place for you to land, grow, and rise. Our services include guided group programs, digital resources, workshops, individual therapy, and one-on-one coaching that reflect our commitment to helping women build balanced, fulfilling lives—on their own terms.
