Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Cheyenne Bryant. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Dr. Cheyenne Bryant is a Psychology Expert, renowned Life Coach, the President of NAACP; branch #1069, Founder of Dr. Bryant Institute, Founder of Dr. Bryant Foundation non-profit, author of the award-winning Readers Favorite Five-Star book, “Mental Detox,” Speaker, community activist, and brand ambassador.
Dr. Bryant’s mission is to spread her message and expertise on how to lead a healthier, happier, balanced and more fulfilling life. For years, she has shared her wisdom, awareness, mastery, and insight through her private practice, book, lectures, workshops, and assisting individuals with life impairments and challenges. Dr. Bryant embarked on a similar journey as the one you are undertaking, assisted by Iyanla Vanzant, Oprah Winfrey, Marianne Williamson, and many more. Dr. Bryant’s passion for healing, encouraging, and empowering others is what led her to become a Doctor of Psychology and a Life Coach.
Dr. Bryant attended Cal State University of Northridge at the age of 17. While there, she obtained a double degree in Psychology and Pan African studies. During her first two years, she was undecided as to what field she should pursue as a career. Organically, she ended up choosing psychology. She still wasn’t quite sure why, however. She didn’t realize what had triggered her interest until she entered the Master’s Program at University of Phoenix. She was about halfway through the Master’s program and boom! It hit her! She had A LOT of healing within herself that needed to be done. Dr. Bryant’s desire for self-fulfillment, healing, peace, and balance within herself and others drew her to the field of psychology. Being the overachiever that she is, Dr. Bryant decided to pursue her Doctorate degree in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University.
Dr. Bryant is a pro-active community activist. She sits on many community and collegiate boards such as Los Angeles Harbor College. She volunteers her time providing community care, inspirational speeches, lectures, mentoring, and resources to youth state facilities and at-risk youth programs. In 2014, Dr. Bryant founded the “Dr. Bryant Team” which created and provided employment opportunities. The “Dr. Bryant Team” focused on providing food, hygiene, clothing, programs, and resources to the disadvantaged communities in Los Angeles County all of which Dr. Bryant solely funded. As a result, of her impact on the community, Dr. Bryant founded the Dr. Bryant Foundation; a 501c3 non-profit that provides school supplies, clothing, computers, and exposure to the underprivileged, and implements needs and resolutions to the community to advance the inner-city youth and families.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like most journeys, mine has been intermingled with moments of smooth sailing and challenges. Some challenges along the way are things such as balancing work and home, maintaining self-care as a lifestyle and not as an intervention, pushing through the nay-sayers, keeping a strong belief in myself despite the opinions of others, keeping a strong support circle while being supportive to them in return. The most challenging experience for me is how lonely the road to success can get at times. The saying, “everyone can’t go” is real! And, trying to take everyone along will weigh you down. There comes a point where everyone within the village has to carry their own weight and obtain the capacity to captain the ship when needed. The higher you go the thinner the air gets and the steeper the climb is. Everyone can’t survive at that level, let alone thrive. It can be lonely and heartbreaking to witness individuals within your village fall off the wayside, while you continue to pursue and conquer your dreams. And, the only way they’d make it, is if you carried them which means ultimately, you both would end up seceding your journey. When it’s all said and done, life is about balance. You will have moments where you are cruising on that smooth road and you will encounter moments where the road is full of bumps and potholes. It’s not the circumstance that creates your experience. It’s the way you perceive it that does.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
The Dr. Bryant Institute is a Psychology based business. We are Psychology experts that provide Life Coaching from a hybrid modality. The Hybrid modality is the most effective modality that consists of a therapeutic and coaching experience. Therapy focuses on past traumas, processing them, and healing from them. Life Coaching helps the client get in contact with who and where they are now, helps them create who and where they want to be and sets attainable goals to reach at the fastest, healthiest, most effective way possible. Which means our clients get a “one stop” shop when working with us. We provide one on one coaching, couples coaching, family coaching, group coaching, small business and corporate coaching.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
The advice I’d give to those just starting out is to NOT stop until you get to where you want to be or further. As long as you keep going you will arrive at your destination. Keep an open mind. Life has a way of changing your plans. Don’t seek your purpose, seek self-mastery. Find yourself and there goes your purpose. Make LOTS of relationships and do not expect anyone to do anything for you, so when they do you’ll have a heart of gratitude. Always say, “thank you” it goes a very long way. Remember relationships will get you in doors money could never buy. And, the quickest way to wealth is through service. So, don’t forget to help the homeless man who needs help getting on the bus. Life is meant to bring ups and downs that is what creates balance, so don’t personalize it. Just choose to only indulge in the ups. Understand that what you focus on magnifies, so only choose to focus on what you want to magnify. And, lastly do what makes you happy, after all that is the true definition of success!
What I wish I had known when I first started out was the importance of being relational and not transactional.
