Today we’d like to introduce you to Donna Delao.
Hi Donna, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I started my journey in the USN at the age of 17. After fulfilling my contract, I went to Nursing School. Once I graduated, there were so many areas to choose from to get into. So I chose and stayed with dialysis. Dialysis is a stressful job, especially the management part. I started to develop migraines that would not stop occurring. After one year of trying prescription after prescription, my doctor recommended Botox for my migraines. At first, I was in disbelief that a wrinkle reducer would take care of my migraines. But after my second treatment with botox, I became a believer, which opened the doors to my desire to learn more in the aesthetics field and to open my very own aesthetics clinic. I now have over 13 certifications in aesthetics and counting.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road never seems to be smooth sailing. I’m a single mom who works full time, and I juggle being in a nursing master’s program as well. I thought running a dialysis clinic would have given me excellent knowledge on starting a business along with my MBA but not even close. It has been a mountain to climb, from finding a location to learning about licensing to malpractice insurance. Thank goodness I have a great support system and motivation at home, my two little girls.
We’ve been impressed with Embrace, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I loved sports and was on the volleyball team, basketball team, teach and field, doing shot-put and discus. I enjoyed learning how to rebuild engines and loved that so much; my job in the navy was as an aviation machinist mate working on F18 super hornets. But growing up, my most dear and heartfelt memories and cherished times were ballroom dancing. I never knew my love for the sport and how much it would add to my love of life, and now I can dance!
