Today we’d like to introduce you to Dennis James.
Hi Dennis, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started back in 2015… I was fresh out of college I was 25 years old… I had no clear direction what I wanted to do. Instagram just got popular on the iPhone… I saw a picture of a guy flexing he was incredible shape. Mind you I had been out of shape most of my life.. after seeing this bodybuilder flex. I decide that’s what I wanted to look like… I started at 295 lbs within a year I was down to 195 lbs. that’s what started my fitness journey that I wanted to help people. I grew up in San Dimas but when to high school in the south bay… everything I did was out that way. So when I decided to take this seriously, I reached out to people because they had seen my journey!!!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hadn’t always been a smooth road in my life when it came to my weight… I always wanted to be an athlete in my younger years… My weight was always an issue. I got picked on a lot when I was younger mentally it messed me up for a long time. No confidence in myself and a lack of self-esteem… As I got older that lack of self-esteem turned into not having any confidence to talk to women as well I was scared to be rejected.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Body Bliss Fitness?
I specialize in Online Personal Training & Nutrition.
What sets me apart from others is that I been overweight. I know what it’s like to go through not liking the person in the mirror. The struggles of weight and having a love/hate relationship with food.
What I’m most proud of about my brand is the culture of love and confidence we bring. It’s exciting, encouraging, and uplifting, we are a family!!!
What I want the readers to know is that body bliss fitness delivers results, we teach you confidence, how to love yourself and how to strengthen your body.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My advice for anyone starting out on their fitness journey.. “Trust the process and love yourself through it all.”
Stuff I wish I knew when I was just starting out is that if you change the outside into a Ferrari make sure the inside isn’t a Chevrolet engine lol. That might go over some people’s heads but it was some of the best advice I got starting out.
