Community Highlights: Meet Dayme Ulloa of Dayme Cosmetics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dayme Ulloa.

Hi Dayme, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was born in Puerto Rico, and my parents are of Spanish and Dominican descent. Growing up, I lived in New York before moving to California. For over 15 years, I have worked as a cosmetologist, later becoming an aromatherapist. During my time in New York, while wearing many hats, working for Oribe, and working as Fashion Designer, I crafted handmade hair and skin care products, which I sold to private clients. At first, I only shared my creations with friends and family, but the word quickly spread, and my clientele expanded. I have always been committed to using vegan and cruelty-free ingredients in my products. My mother and aunts made their own beauty products when I was a child, but it wasn’t until later in life that I fully appreciated the value of farm-to-jar items.

I now understand that products made with ingredients closer to the earth contain more nutrients that are beneficial for our skin. I launched my company’s Life Style Brand website 3.5 years ago and recently acquired a Customized Mobile Boutique. Our products are available in various stores, such as Shop 27, located in Cafe 27 Topanga, Follow Your Heart Market, and Apricot Lane, in the Topanga Village. Our beauty mobile boutique is the first of its kind, offering a wide variety of customizable products that customers can order as they would a gourmet salad. We believe that our beauty regimen should constantly evolve to meet the changing needs of our customers. Our flagship store is located in the Topanga Village Mall, and we also have a vending machine in the Century City Mall and an online store where customers can customize their products.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been a smooth road for the most part. But there are always challenges as to figuring out what markets are best for your company. I had to participate in a lot of different events/market events to determine the best locations for my beauty mobile boutique. Also, if you don’t know much about RVs, you have to do your research and learn a little bit about almost everything, so if anything needs repairing, you know what’s going on, etc. I feel very lucky that people were receptive to trying my new Beauty Life Style Brand. They love that it is from Farm to jar ingredients with very few ingredients to work its miracles. Because of it, we were written up in an editorial in the April 2023 issue of The Malibu Times.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about DAYME COSMETICS?
DAYME COSMETICS is a lifestyle brand that prides itself on being vegan and cruelty-free. As the first company to offer a beauty mobile boutique, we offer a range of products, including haircare, skincare, and cosmetics. Some of our best-selling products are our hyperpigmentation face cream, Rice waters, and 18 botanical herb hair oil that we marinade at our Mobile Beauty Boutique. We provide our customers with the opportunity to personalize their skincare and beauty products, similar to how one would customize a gourmet salad. Our brand is continuously evolving, and we believe that our skincare and haircare routines should do the same. We take pleasure in meeting our customers, hearing their stories, and customizing their orders. Our packaging is carefully designed to ensure that our customers receive the most beautiful gift possible. As the owner, my goal is to create an experience for people and build a community where DAYME COSMETICS is their happy place. Together, we can all beautify ourselves and make our world a more beautiful place.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
As an artist, both musically and as a Designer, I embody every sense of the word. My innate curiosity has always been the fuel that ignites my creativity. I take great pleasure in devising ways to uplift people’s spirits and help them feel better about themselves, and this has always been the ultimate reward for me. Positive interactions with others are something that I truly cherish. My connection to nature and animals has always been very profound. Hence, having a lifestyle brand that is both vegan and cruelty-free is crucial to me. I am also passionate about giving people choices and working together to provide the ultimate beauty care experience.
