Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Guerrero
Hi Brandon, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I came to Los Angeles with nothing when I was 15 years old. Ultimately figuring things out day by day in the entertainment business. A 21 years old, I hit a deadend, I needed to figure something out quick in order to stay in LA. I got my first hourly job, which was hard for me because I always wanted to be my own boss and create something, but this was really a stepping stone in my life. I told myself I would try to talk to everyone that came in the store, it was a really small meal prep store. It took about 4 months of doing that to where I met the owner/broker of this Real Estate company. Eventually they brought me on, but I didn’t have the money nor the knowledge to go out and be this top real estate agent. For a year and a half I was the company’s receptionist, building the income and learning the ropes to the industry. Fast forward to my second year, I got my license I closed my first multi-million dollar deal. Once that happened, the broker brought me in his office and stated for me to grow I needed to get out of my comfort zone and let go of the hourly job and become a full time agent. From that point on, things started to flow, but nothing came easy. Every deal, every conversation had its own challenges. There’s a lot of highs and lows in the business. You need to be relentless to be successful, especially in Los Angeles. That’s for any entrepreneur and business. Fast forward to now, I’ve closed and broken numerous amount of records. With over 60 Million lifetime sales so far, we’re just getting started. Everyday is different. I work with buyers, sellers, and developers. I love helping people find the perfect property. An important part of this business, probably the most important factor is working for your client’s best interest. Buying and selling a house is such a big financial decision for everyone. I always make sure my clients are aware of every step, but also getting the best deal possible. With that, you build trust and loyalty. I enjoy helping people, I have my amazing clients and friends to thank for helping me get to where I am today
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road hasn’t always been smooth, if anything there’s more speed bumps than not. I would say one of the biggest obstacles is getting the deal officially closed. There are so many steps before you get to that closing day. There are times, more so than not, you accept an offer and get into escrow, then it cancels and you’re back to square one. There are a lot of emotions, you as the agent have to keep going with your head on straight and have a plan. You have to work hard. Being a full time Agent is like running a business. You have expenses and things you need to do. That being said, you have to make sure things are getting done to get the deals closed and maintain your business. Another obstacle is growing your business. There a lot of Real Estate Agents in today’s world. You need to be able to show your clients and potential clients the value you bring. Why do they need you. How can you help them. Make it very clear
We’ve been impressed with Guerrero Real Estate Group, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I run the Real Estate department while bringing in and working on my own deals. We spear head Residential Real Estate across Los Angeles, but our focus has been “The San Fernando Valley” & the hills. We have a great operation with the biggest real estate office in the Valley. We’re located in Studio City on Cahuenga Blvd. We work with Buyers, Sellers, & Developers
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
I’ve learned that life will knock you down at times, but it’s not about how you fall, it’s about how you get back up and move forward that defines you. Never quit. Keep pushing. If you have a dream, create it. No one will believe in you more than you’ll believe in yourself
