Community Highlights: Meet Anna Reger of FlipLok, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Reger.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey has been shaped by resilience, family, and a drive to make a difference. Growing up in a tough Houston neighborhood and overcoming serious challenges, I learned early on that setbacks are just setups for growth. That mindset carried me through earning my GED, completing a bachelor’s degree at the University of Houston, and eventually launching multiple businesses.

The idea for FlipLok came from a moment that hit close to home, when I learned there was an active shooter near my daughter’s school. When I later asked her if the classroom door was locked, she couldn’t be sure. That moment made me realize there was a critical gap in safety that needed a practical solution. What started as an idea to protect schools grew into a full safety system designed for homes, offices, and public spaces, developed with input from fire marshals, administrators, and government officials.

Along the way, I have focused on creating solutions that have a meaningful impact, whether it is through FlipLok or my humanitarian work supporting women, children, and my community. My motto, “Never give up,” guides everything I do, and I strive to lead by example, showing others that determination and innovation can turn challenges into lasting change.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has definitely not been a smooth road. Every journey has its challenges, and mine has been full of them. Growing up in a tough neighborhood in Houston, I faced obstacles that could have easily held me back, including serious car accidents that changed the course of my life. Earning my GED and later a college degree required persistence and belief in myself when the odds did not feel in my favor.

Starting a business, especially one like FlipLok that addresses safety and security, came with its own set of struggles. There were countless late nights, trial and error with prototypes, navigating regulations, and making sure the product could actually make a difference in real-life emergencies. Convincing people to trust a new solution was also a challenge, but every setback taught me something invaluable about resilience, problem solving, and the importance of perseverance.

Looking back, the struggles did not hold me back, they shaped the person I am today and strengthened my commitment to creating solutions that truly matter.
