Community Highlights: Meet Anna Berezina of high heels for u

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Berezina

Hi Anna, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Hey my name is Anna Berezina. I was born and raised in Russia. I moved to the USA six years ago. I’m a professional dancer and came to LA to pursue my dream. When I moved to LA, I had no idea how to start or how to promote myself. I started at a kids’ dance studio because I had big experience working with kids. I taught there for about 2.5 years. My groups took first place at many competitions. In the meantime, I was trying to open a group for adult classes. At first, I started teaching for Russian-speaking girls. I taught everything from jazz funk to high heels. Unfortunately, I couldn’t gain a large group. What worked to gain a group in Russia didn’t work here. I was very upset. Eventually, I focused on teaching only high heels for beginners—those who just started their dancing journey or those who already have dancing experience and want to improve their skills. I started teaching in English (at first it was hard because of the language barrier, lol) and promoted my IG page as much as I could to show what I was doing. Eventually, it worked out!
I named my classes High Heels For U. It’s a three-week high heels program for beginners where each woman can learn how to dance in heels and unleash her sensual side

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
During for first 2 years i could not gain a big group. Maximum amount of people in my classes was 5.I remember how i was worried about it and thought to quit it a few times. And I am glad i did not do it.

We’ve been impressed with high heels for u, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
High Heels For U is a 3 week dance program where each woman can learn how to dance. There are two levels: beginner and beginner/intermediate. We focus on technique, basics of heels, working with the camera, performance, and much more. At the end of the course, we have professional filming of the learned choreography for each student and a photoshoot. It’s a unique experience that every girl should have. After my course, girls feel like they have become different people—more feminine, more confident, and more powerful.
