Check Out Tiffany Dunia’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Dunia.

Hi Tiffany, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My story as an artist starts pretty close to day one. As a child, I was always creating – anything from stories and characters to building structures to art of all kinds. My family tells stories of the many tales and explanations I gave for why the world worked the way it did. So it makes sense that by the time I was in 6th grade, I knew I would professionally pursue acting – someway, somehow. That was also the same year that I had the opportunity to be in my first play ever – as the lead. I, of course, was nervous, but as soon as I walked off that stage after the curtain call, I couldn’t stop smiling. Saying I “caught the bug” for acting would be putting it mildly. I was head over heels in love with acting.

Fast forward to 2018, when I made it official and moved to Los Angeles. Since moving to LA, I have worked on a variety of short films – a number of which have gone on to film festivals. I have also worked on commercials, music videos – both domestic and international – photoshoots, promos, series, theatre, etc. I am thankful not only for these experiences but especially to have met so many amazing individuals on and off set.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
You know the saying, “The grass is always greener on the other side?” I think that can be true of the roads of life. From the outside, acting can appear easy. But once you are actually taking that road, you realize it is far from it. The life of an actor can be full of instability – not knowing when you’ll get your next job, the need for affirmation – booking or not booking a job based on how you look, self-doubt – hearing “no” so many times you become unsure of yourself, and the list goes on. My journey has included many of these struggles, but truly I cannot complain. This road, my road, has been so full of unexpected and wonderful adventures for which I will forever be grateful.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am an actress, model, and if I’m being honest, an all-around creative. I work both commercially and theatrically – absolutely loving what I do. Over the last few years, I have had the pleasure of working and building friendships with so many wonderful people from all over the world. Through these experiences, I have been reminded of the fact that as long as you are open, kind, and present, you can touch one another whether or not you speak the same language. These people will forever hold a special place in my heart.

I know that this is the expected answer, but I’d say the thing that sets me apart from others is my sense of humor: finding joy wherever I can. Oh! And that I’m able to make a few animal sounds rather accurately. Actually, funny story: one time during the run of a play, a few of my crewmates spent 2+ days trying to locate a bird lost in the building. When I finally realized what they were looking for, they found “the bird” – me.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
That’s a tough one. I have so many good childhood memories that it’s hard to pick just one. However, one family camping trip comes to mind. On this particular trip, we were going to Yosemite and didn’t leave the house until after bedtime, so we should have been grumpy and tired. But at 1 a.m., when we emerged from the tunnel, we were greeted with a picturesque view of the moonlit valley. It was breathtaking! You could see El Capitan, Half Dome, the Three Sisters, and literally everything else with such clarity like everything had a spotlight on it. What could easily have been a rotten start turned into one of the most magical beginnings to a family camping trip.
