Check Out Sylvia Mannova’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sylvia Mannova.

Hi Sylvia, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I came from Slovakia. My dance journey started when I was five years old. I started with ballet, gymnastics. Later it was ballroom dancing for seven years. When I was 15, I decided to try my luck in acting. Studied acting for five years at state art conservatory. But somehow, I still felt need to dance.

So while I was in school, I started taking hiphop classes at nighttime. That was the only time I was available to dance because the school was ending everyday at 8pm. After a couple of months of training, I got picked to perform for events. And since then I was performing all over the Europe and Asia. We traveled with my group for years. It was amazing. I have done a lot of Tv shows as well. Like X factor, The Voice, Dancing with the stars. After years I felt like I reached what I wanted in my country so I made a decision. I moved to LA. It was a big step for me. I pretty much had to start from the beginning. But I loved it. I was taking a lot of classes. After like six months, I got signed to an agency and I started working. Also developed my dance style. Commercial heels. So far, I have credit like – Tyga, Lil Wayne, Roddy Ricch, French Montana. I am also a teacher and choreographer. I’ve choreographer a lot of music videos. I am also currently teaching heels classes in LA Privetes as well. I am very grateful I can share my art with my students every week.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I moved across the world so it wasn’t easy to start over. Everything was new. I Didn’t have friends or job. So this was the hard part for me. I lived in a sharehouse for a while and I didn’t have a car. So life wasn’t easy at the beginning at all, haha.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Professional Choreographer/dancer I am a professional choreographer and teacher Currently teaching weekly classes in LA. My style is commercial heels dance. My class is focused on building self-confidence in women and men. My class is a safe place to develop movement and train your skill.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
Yes. Every single person on my journey formed me into a human being I am today. But my main Thankyou into my family. They supported my dream and thats why I was able to do it. Every single dance rehearsal, competition is because of support from my family. My parents are my number one supporters!
