Check Out Sandrine Peck’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sandrine Peck.

Hi Sandrine, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started designing clothes, I think like any other fashion designer by sewing clothes for my Barbie dolls. My mom was a seamstress so she taught me the basics growing up. I was the fashionista of the family and when I decided to pursue fashion full time, I went to school and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in fashion design. Upon graduating, I worked for a couple of different fashion design companies designing juniors clothing for department stores. I currently work for a company designing kid’s dresses which I love to do. Last year I designed a custom prom dress for one of my friend’s nieces. It was probably, I’d say one of the more challenging things I’ve done in such a short amount of time since college but when I completed it, I realized that designing and making custom made garments is something that I wanted to pursue and make a career out of. With that being said, I started and still am building my business and taking on small projects for clients, trying to build a name for myself while working my 9-5 fashion job. I love what I do and I won’t stop going until I reach my goal which is to eventually become a profitable custom made garment designer.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road and still isn’t. I think one of my number one struggles is time like most people I think there doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day. I spend a lot of days up late trying to complete a project while making sure That I get enough sleep to be able to function at my normal job and trying to spend time and not neglect the important people in my life. Time management is key to making everything work and Something that I’m still struggling with. There is so many things that I want to do with my brand but time is sometimes the one thing that holds me back in accomplishing even the little things that I want to do.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a fashion designer. I have two jobs 1st as a kid’s dress designer for a manufacturing company in downtown La. I love waking up and going to work and designing dresses for kids. I never thought this would be where I would end up when I graduated college but here I am and I love it 2nd I and a custom dress designer for my brand Elle Existe. I recently started to pursue this Avenue of work last year after realizing how much I love making custom dresses for people which can include anything from prom dresses, wedding dresses, birthday outfits, etc. I love seeing client’s faces when they see their vision come to life and I love knowing that I did that with my own two hands. I think the one thing that sets me apart from the others is that I have knowledge and experience in two different areas of the fashion industry with my current job working for a kids clothing company, I learn so much about fashion that I was never taught in school and I apply that same knowledge onto my own brand to help that grow and to eventually become profitable. I’m surrounded by great business people who are not afraid to teach me and to help me grow in this industry and become successful.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I’m currently only social media on Instagram only under @elleexiste or you can always email me at [email protected] People can help support me by spreading the word of my work and keeping me in mind when you need an outfit for a special occasion or if you know anyone in need of something special. I don’t shy away from anything and I’m always up for a challenge when designing and creating. I’m currently trying to build and start my business and word of mouth is key.
