Today we’d like to introduce you to Ruxanda Calistru.
Hi Ruxanda, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I am a professional ballroom hip hop and ballet dancer. I am also a recording artist, singer, piano player, songwriter. I started music and dance since I was six years old. I come from a family with musicians my parents are both musicians my sister is an opera singer and violinist. My Passion for music and dance started since I was a little girl since I was four years old, I was emulating artists that I’ve seen on TV some of my idols are Mariah Carey, Michael Jackso, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion. At the age of ten years old, I started to write my own music Thread started to write original songs since I was a little girl and since then that has been one of my passions. Amongst songwriting, I have been singing dance since six years old.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been very challenging because I come from a second world country Moldova. My parents raised me and my sister in very challenging times. We experienced poverty and starvation and other challenges financial league we have seen things that other children haven’t experienced. I do not wish these top experiences for other children. I love my parents my sister; they are my number one sounds; they are my support system are my best friends. Thinks to my family I am who I am. Thanks to them, I am where I’m at. They really raised me to have a great discipline wonderful work ethic persistency, motivation and be very strong no matter what and fight for my dreams. Thanks to them, I decided to come to United States and pursue my dreams in my career.

Everybody calls me a triple or quadruple threat. I sing, I dance, I play piano and write music. That’s really makes me stand out because I have all these talents and this is all-in-one person. Missouri hardworking person very persistent and well known for my persistency amongst everybody that works with me or amongst my friends
