Check Out Paris Broadnax’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paris Broadnax.

Hi Paris, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was born and raised in South Central Los Angeles. I have a degree in Mass Communications and have been working in the sports and entertainment world for 20 plus years. I have been working since the age of 12. My first job was answering phones at a tax office. My 2nd job started at the age of 14 working for the WNBA Los Angeles Sparks under the leadership of Karleen Thompson. Seeing her and the other woman on the team live and work in their purpose inspired me in so many different areas; which I still hold on to. Working for the Sparks taught me the importance of sisterhood & accountability. I’ve been blessed to work with some amazing companies, Universal records, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, and now SonyaBee online boutique. When I finally decided to get on social media, I started sharing my journey in the sports and entrainment world. However, when I started looking at my photos I became sad and uncomfortable in my skin.

One day I was trying on dresses for an event for a fashion show I was working on and could not find anything to wear. Nothing I tried on fit. I had that horrible dressing room breakdown. I cried for 10mins because I didn’t like what I saw in the mirror. And that day I finally made the decision to get on a nutrition plan.

So along with sharing sports, fashion, and my faith in God, I started documenting my fitness journey. I didn’t realize how many people were watching until I started getting calls, texts, and inbox messages asking what I was doing. That is when I made the decision to create “Faith Fashion & Fitness”.

I use my social media to inspire my community in those three areas.

My faith is the most important part of my life. I wake up, give gratitude to God, and ask him to order my steps every day. It mentally prepares me to get through my day and to help others. You need faith to keep going.

Fashion is one of the best ways to express yourself and it does so much for your confidence. When you wear your favorite dress, shoes or hat, etc., it changes your walk and how you enter into a room.

Health and fitness are important because it’s one of the most important things you can have in life. I lost 40+ lbs when I started my fitness journey with my Herbalife community. It felt good to be able to wear whatever I wanted and to have the energy I needed to get around and do my everyday tasks. Once you take control of your health its helps you mentally, spiritually, emotionally, and physically.

My goal is to help someone every day in one of those areas if not all three. From becoming their Herbalife health coach to finding something cute to wear to build their confidence or if it’s just sharing the things that God has brought me through to help them get through.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not always been a smooth road. It was very challenging trying to balance my business, spiritual life, and personal life. I struggled for a while trying to make everyone happy and trying to be everywhere at the same time. I felt overwhelmed and drained. I had to force myself to step back and focus on my own happiness and peace first.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Faith Fashion and Fitness came to me while I was at lunch with one of my friends. We were going over his journey as a professional athlete and the struggles you go through when you don’t have spiritual guidance and a solid group of friends to keep you grounded. And how they don’t teach you about proper nutrition to perform better on the field. After that discussion, I thought about how this affects more than just athletes but everyone. So I decided to take my fitness journey to another level. I knew I wanted to make people feel good, be inspired, feel confident, and loved. So I added Fashion to Faith and Fitness. And I focus on those three things while I’m helping my clients on their health journey.

The services I provide are in weight loss, weight gain, and digestive health. All of my clients get one on one coaching from me, are invited into a private accountability thread, sent personal development videos weekly and a nutrition guide to help them while they are on this journey. I love receiving calls, text messages and being tagged in their photos showing off their results. It makes me feel good to see them on vacation wearing a swimsuit for the first time. Having their wedding dress taking in, putting on enough muscle mass to get into the fire academy, and seeing photos of a mom smiling on rollercoasters because she lost enough weight to get on a ride with her kids for the 1st time. Doing that for my community and the people I meet on social media is a blessing.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Look for someone who really loves what they do and has a lot of success in that field. Someone who will be honest and blunt in a loving way. A mentor will give you everything you need to pass them up.
