Today we’d like to introduce you to X Miller.
Hi X, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey with music, dance, and performance art began at a very young age. From childhood into my adult life, I have been blessed to perform across stages and travel the world doing what I love. At a young age, my family would put on talent shows where we would perform songs and dance in creative ways. I got my official start at five years old dancing in a school talent show, dancing to “Larger than life” by the Back Street Boys.” Writing songs became a passion around 10 years of age and I have been in love with communicating in that way since. Dance has always been a part of my life so naturally honing those skills and understanding that art form was something I’ve been drawn to. Through hard work, dedication, and loving who I am first, I have been able to accomplish many of my goals and find myself loving what I do nearly 25 years later. Since the start of my career, I have performed at Carnegie hall, The Hollywood Bowl, The Lincoln Center, instructed The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, Danced for ABC TV and many other places and for the world. Today I am actively performing as an independent artist and building a community for gifted individuals who want to create and produce entertainment art.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There have been very many obstacles along the journey. From venues canceling, team members not showing up, music cutting off, injuries, last-minute malfunctions, stage issues and so much more, however, we’ve been lucky to find solutions. It may not be what I wanted, but at that point we deal with what we need and it usually comes out better than what was originally planned for. To me an obstacle can push an artist to really reach further into their creativity, and I’ve always loved a challenge.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a professional vocal recording artist, choreographer, dancer, and mentor of the arts. I specialize in producing R&B, Hiphop, and Pop music, all styles of dance, and the psychology behind art creation. I am known for my exciting performances, soulful voice, exciting dance moves and inspiring words. I am most proud of being able to stay positive through this process. There are an awful lot of no’s and what can be viewed as disappointments, but I choose to see them as redirections and not endings. I’m not sure what others do for their creative process but I do like to meditate and stay in tune with my inner voice so that I do not compromise who I am for what I love to do.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Honesty. Without first being truthful to myself about what I feel, creating seems fictitious. Honesty is a major key to all processes no matter what is being created and makes it more authentic when the truth is tapped into while the art is being created.
Discernment has also led me to some beautiful places in life and I have to be thankful for that intuition. Being able to connect intuitively with my surroundings and those around me has been a huge blessing in my career.
