Check Out Victor Dunn Jr.’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Victor Dunn Jr..

Hi Victor, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born in Oklahoma City, but moving to Southern California when I was 12 opened doors I didn’t even know existed yet. Being surrounded by the entertainment world pushed me to think bigger and inspired me to start pursuing modeling, acting, music, and fashion at a young age.

My family has always inspired me to go after what I really want in life. Watching them work hard and carve their own paths taught me that nothing is handed to you, you have to build it yourself. That mindset has been a huge part of my journey and why I’m still pushing forward today.

By the time I was 15, I signed with LA Models, and that experience became my foundation. I had the chance to work with professionals, go on commercial auditions, and learn what it takes to show up confidently in front of the camera. That early start showed me that I belonged in this industry and that I had something to contribute creatively.

As I grew, so did my passion for music. I built my own recording studio from scratch and taught myself how to engineer and produce my own sound. Creating independently pushed me to see myself not just as a model or artist. But as someone who can build a career from the ground up.

Right now, I’m focused on elevating both my modeling/acting work and my music. I feel like everything I’ve learned, every skill I’ve picked up, and every year of dedication has prepared me for where I’m heading next. My goals are big, and I’m committed to chasing them. I’m just getting started, and I know there’s a lot more ahead.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One thing I learned early is this industry doesn’t promise you anything, you have to fight for every opportunity. There were times I felt overlooked, or like things were moving slower than I hoped. Being signed so young made me think everything would take off instantly, but reality hit me fast.

Moving at a young age and trying to figure out who I was in such a big environment wasn’t easy. I dealt with a lot of pressure, both externally and internally, trying to live up to expectations, and trying not to disappoint myself or the people who believed in me.

Balancing school, auditions, and trying to discover my identity at the same time was definitely challenging. There were times I questioned if I was doing the right thing or if I should focus on something more “stable.”

When I started doing music, that came with an entirely new set of challenges. I didn’t have a team or a budget, so I had to learn everything myself. Building a studio from nothing, learning how to engineer, investing in equipment. It took patience, sacrifice, and a lot of trial and error.

There were moments where progress felt slow, or where it seemed like no one was noticing what I was doing. But those struggles shaped me. They forced me to develop discipline and resilience, and they taught me to keep pushing even when things didn’t look promising.

Every challenge I’ve faced has only made me hungrier. Instead of stopping me, it made me realize just how badly I want this and how far I’m willing to go to make it happen.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Right now, I’m a model, actor, and recording artist. Creatively, I wear a lot of different hats, but everything I do connects back to storytelling, expression, and building my own lane.

In modeling and acting, I’m focused on developing my range, commercial, editorial, and television work. I love being in front of the camera and bringing a concept or character to life, whether that’s through movement, emotion, or energy.

On the music side, I write, record, and engineer all my own songs. I built a full home studio and developed my sound completely independently. I take a lot of pride in being hands on with every part of the process, from recording vocals to mixing, producing, and releasing my work.

What I’m most proud of is that I never waited on anyone to validate me or open doors for me. I created opportunities when they didn’t exist, and I learned everything I needed so I could move forward on my own timeline.

What sets me apart is my versatility and work ethic. I’m not just focused on one lane, I’m building a foundation across multiple areas of entertainment, and I’m developing my skills to back that up. I’m committed to mastering every part of my craft, not just the parts people see on the surface.

My goal is to continue growing in all three spaces, modeling, acting, and music while creating a brand and artistic identity that people connect with.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I think the biggest shift we’re already seeing and will continue to see is the rise of independent artists and creators across all forms of entertainment. Between streaming, social media, new platforms, and the power of having your own audience, people don’t have to wait for traditional industry approval the way they used to.

In modeling and acting, casting is becoming more diverse, more digital, and more personality driven. Brands care about authenticity and individuality now, not just looks. I think we’re going to see even more non traditional talent being represented, and more opportunities for people who bring something unique to the table.

In music, independent artists are changing the entire landscape. You can build a fanbase, release music, and create real momentum without a label. The power is shifting toward the artist, and I think in 5–10 years, we’ll see even more successful artists who built their careers outside the traditional system.

Technology, AI, and social media are only going to make it easier for creators to produce their own content. I think the future is all about creators having control over their voice, their brand, and their opportunities.

That’s exactly why I’ve focused on learning multiple skills, not just performing, but creating, producing, and building something that I own.
