Hi Urna, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am Urna, from Hohhot, Inner Mongolia. I moved to Tokyo, Japan, when I was fifteen and went to the United States for my undergraduate studies. Speaking three languages and being immersed in multiple cultures has made me a ‘contradictory’ person. My goal is to produce good work in a pleasant film set.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Beyond the technical aspects, proving my abilities and exceeding expectations is a personal challenge that motivates me to continually improve and perfect my skills.
My professional journey has been filled with its fair share of challenges, but overcoming them has been a crucial part of my growth. The lessons I have learned along the way have shaped me both personally and professionally, constantly reminding me of the critical importance of collaboration, communication, and adaptability. These qualities are essential tools in the ever-changing film industry. As a producer, my aim is to identify and nurture unique artistic voices. I want my work to stand as a testament to the power of storytelling and its ability to connect us all on a deeper level.

Urna is a multilingual producer with bases in New York and Tokyo. She holds an MFA degree in Film from the School of Visual Arts in New York. With a rich background in both commercial and narrative film productions worldwide, her work has garnered acclaim at international film festivals such as Slamdance, Tokyo Film Awards, First International, and Shanghai Film Festivals. Known for her meticulous attention to detail, Urna excels in transforming scripts into vivid cinematic experiences.
As a producer, she oversees all facets of the filmmaking process, from budgeting and scheduling to casting and distribution. Urna’s passion and dedication to filmmaking make her a significant asset to any production team.
