Check Out Uce Lee’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Uce Lee.

Hi Uce, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Started producing music when I was 18 on house arrest made the best out of a bad situation. I ended up producing a big record for E-40 called “Choices” that went platinum. I started my own label called “So Way Out” and we also have a storefront in South LA along with an e-commerce site www.sowayout.com.

I’m now releasing my own music as a producer/ artist and have songs out with Schoolboy Q, The Game, Vince Staples and more.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Nothing out of the ordinary, it requires a lot of hard work and dedication though.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I have been producing music for ten years now, I’m known for my west coast sound (being from Cali) but I’ve also produced for Atlanta artists such as Gunna. I’m proud of how diverse my music can be and that I’m able to create in almost any genre. I have also had placements with Afro-pop artists such as Kida Kudz.

What sets me apart is I’m one of the only Polynesian (Samoan) producers in the music industry.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Work your ass off and build your relationships. Networking is key.
