Hi Trevor, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I am an entrepreneur from South Central Los Angeles who started my clothing brand while also finishing graduate school (MBA). After my baseball career ended due to COVID-19 and injuries, I suffered from depression because I had no idea where my life was heading. After self-reflecting on the aspirations for my life, I decided that I wanted to create a clothing brand that represents me as a unit. That’s when my brand “Hellooo” was created. “Hellooo” means “to welcome” and I had to say hello to a new chapter in their life.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
To be honest, it hasn’t been a smooth road entering a new industry where I have no experience. In fact, making my vision come to life the way I expected came with a lot of roadblocks. First, I thought learning everything from scratch about the legal work, finance, designs, etc., was a grind. However, the support and knowledge I gained over time helped me a lot throughout the process.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am simply a creator. I create different forms of art when I am cutting hair, creating music, videos & clothing. I am known for being a man of many talents. I am most proud of my clothing brand because the story behind it. I am the only brand that associates its three greatest inspirations with the brand’s symbol (palm trees) while also making affordable luxury garments.
How do you define success?
I defined success as the benefit of commitment.
