Check Out TreMon Jamal’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to TreMon Jamal.

Hi TreMon, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started out DJ’ing around the age of 13 in Wilmington, NC. I’ve always been “musically inclined” but I wanted to take it to another level, and make money. It honestly took off really fast for me. I started out DJ’ing high school proms, sporting events, birthday parties, etc. which quickly led to me becoming a Radio DJ at 15. Fast forward a few years, I started to attend Winston-Salem State University which led me to becoming the #1 HBCU DJ in the Country in 2020, pre-pandemic.

Since then I’ve been blessed to DJ internationally in Jamaica, Mexico, and DR and become a top-tier DJ across the country. I’m blessed to currently be blessed in Los Angeles still writing this story, and still grinding as we speak

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I would say my age was somewhat an obstacle. You know when people think of notable DJs, they’re all around 30+. I recently just turned 23, so I can be “slept on” in a way despite my intensive resume.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m an all-event professional DJ. I have experience in many genres but I specialize in Hip Hop, R&B, and Top 40. What sets me apart is not only my resume and skill set but also my WHY.

When you hear/see me DJ, my mission is to make you forget any problems that are going on. I want to be an OUTLET. When I am DJ’ing, I want everyone to feel like they are safe to be THEMSELVES. That everything will be ok. I also want to create memories. Whenever someone feels down, I want them to remember the amazing time they had at one of my events. I want them to say “wow, I would really love to experience another TreMon Jamal event. It was AMAZING”. That’s my goal as a DJ.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Being able to adapt, especially in entertainment because things constantly change. It’s also important to be coachable and to just be yourself.
