Today we’d like to introduce you to Stella Wasserman
Hi stella, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
i have been around entertainment my whole life. since i was young, both of my parents were in the industry, so it feels like it is in my blood. slowly, i fell in love with all aspects of entertainment, and sports.
when i graduated high school, i wanted to do something in the sports or entertainment, seperate from my family. I started an NIL agency, because i was really interested in that. I go to the university of texas, which is a school that is greatly benefiting from NIL, so i thought it would be a prime opportunity. In all honesty, this didn’t work out.
So i pivoted to music, where i started event production. I put on some events in Austin with bigger DJs, which made me fall in love with the industry. I was helping some frats put on events as well, where I met a really cool DJ who needed an agent. He asked me if I wanted to be his, and I said yes. From there, I built a roster of artists, which eventually grew big enough for me to join an agency. I joined forces with Hamilton Wright at Wright Bookings, and the rest is history. I also took a job with an incredible team at Special Delivery Presents, where we are growing the electronic music scene in Texas, and in all of the USA.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The most difficult thing so far has been proving that belong where I am. Because of who my dad is, I don’t want people to think that he is why I succeed. So I have decided from the beginning that I want to make my own name, seperate from his, to prove that I deserve to be where I am.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a music agent at Wright Bookings, specializing in routing tours/bookings shows for national and international artists. I also work with Special Delivery Presents to promote events in Texas and the USA. Robert Brooks and his team took a chance on me about a year ago, and I am very grateful for the opportunities they have given me. We have promoted some huge shows around the USA, as well as a massive music festival taking place in Austin. I would say I am best known for my relentless and determined nature. Once I set my mind to something, it is very hard to take me off of it until that thing is done. I am most proud of the amount I have accomplished at such a young age. What sets me apart is my drive.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
My biggest advice is never be afraid to ask. The worst someone can say is no.
