Check Out Stanislava Ivy’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stanislava Ivy.

Hi Stanislava , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’m a journalist, a writer and a director.
I have a wide range of skills for over 10 years in TV and film production in front and behind the camera. I have dedicated my journalistic career to traveling the world to interview some of the biggest names among Hollywood actors and directors such as Nicole Kidman, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Kate Winslet, Clive Owen, Geoffrey Rush, Willem Daffoe and many, many others. I have created and hosted the first ever TV show dedicated to cinema in Bulgaria, I have attended many film festivals and red carpet events such as the Oscars, BAFTA, the European Film Awards and many more. One of my projects is a documentary series dedicated to the cinema world – “Cinema Confidential” (on Amazon Prime).
I have written and published four books and currently developing two of them for TV, I have a documentary in development and my debut short film “I know what you did” stars the magnificent British actor Michael McKell and is already an award winner from various festivals, I’m working on its feature version. For a few years in a row now I have hosted the Q&A panels of Comic Con Bulgaria with the international stars, I was a jury member at the first edition of Huawei Smartphone Film Festival and I work on the organization of one of the biggest film festivals in Bulgaria – CineLibri. I also make workshops for young journalists.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My work as a TV journalist who covers predominantly cinema has been a challenge in order to arrange interviews with high profile actors and directors as the market is so small. However, I managed quite successfully to find my place and to do a lot of interviews with a lot of work and dedication. For example, two years ago I had to travel from LA to San Francisco to do an interview with the amazing writer Isabel Allende and after a lot of car trouble and an inappropriate AirBnb, I still managed and did not give up on the idea 🙂

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I have created and hosted the first TV show on Bulgarian television dedicated to cinema and incorporating interviews with big Hollywood stars. I have also written and shot my debut short based on which I’m developing my debut feature as well. I have also travelled the world for different projects and recorded lots of those adventures in my four books. “Fake is a state of mind” and “Serendipity Calls” are published in English as well.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favourite childhood memory is perhaps going to visit my grandparents in the countryside where we could play outside all day long and be in contact with nature and friends. A concept that is more and more rare nowadays.
