Hi Soobin, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Making art always have been part of my life, whether or not knowing its impact. I was mainly using two-dimensional mediums to document my life and emotions; however, I always had the desire to transform my abstract drawings into three-dimensional sculptures. I was introduced to ceramics about two years ago when I moved to Boston from New York. I got a job as an office assistant at Harvard Ceramics Studio and found my newfound passion of making clay sculptures. A friend who practices in ceramics told me long ago that working with clay is highly therapeutic, and she was right. I would find myself losing track of time when I was making ceramic sculptures. The idea of form and balance motivates me to better my art practice and serves as a motto of my everyday life. Therefore, the composition of color, space, and form holds significant importance in my artist perspectives.
