Check Out Shelly Archer’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shelly Archer.

Hi Shelly, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Shelly Archer, and I’m a singer songwriter. I was born and raised near Tel Aviv, Israel, and recently moved to Los Angeles.
I’ve been writing songs since I was a teenager, and always did my best to hold space for it and let it guide me as I navigate through life. My musical journey started playing shows in the Tel Aviv indie scene, moved through becoming an accompanying musician to other artists, touring around the world, releasing my own music and collaborations, and seeing all kinds of interesting things. But when it comes down to it, what I always come back to is what I’ve been doing since I was a kid – sitting with an instrument and writing.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s never a smooth road, but it’s a really enjoyable one. I’m still in the middle of it, so it’s hard to reflect on it, but I would say a big challenge I’ve been facing is starting over at a completely new place. If you ever want a personal growth boost the hard way, move halfway across the world.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a singer, songwriter, keyboard player, and producer. I’ve been releasing my own music since 2022, and have also co-wrote, co-produced and played at other artists’ records. It’s really important to me to be honest in my songwriting, not necessarily in a sense of telling the factual truth (although I often do), but in the way of releasing songs I feel strongly about. Songs that I know got me through an emotional tunnel, and when I finished writing them I was on the other side of something, small as it may be. I believe that if the song had this transformative power on me, it might do the same for others, and that’s something I like to share. I feel like it brings us all closer together.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Yes! I am working on a lot of new music and will be releasing it this year.
I’m also playing shows monthly if LA.
