Today we’d like to introduce you to Shaneisha Dodson
Shaneisha, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
In 2012, I wanted to see my words come to life so I founded my production company and began to tour across the United States.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My journey has been full of ups and downs. However, I wouldn’t change a thing. The journey taught me how to be flexible and resilient.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I direct and produce plays, short films and cultural events. I’m most proud of my upcoming show Black December that will open March 14th, 15th and 16th at the Long Beach Playhouse in Long Beach, CA. My productions are high quality and affordable. This is what sets us apart from other companies.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Attend networking events and join writing groups. You also have the internet at the tip of your finger tips. Slide into someone’s DM and see if they are available.
