Today we’d like to introduce you to Sara Faye
Hi Sara Faye, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started originally blogging about my outfits inspired by the original fashion bloggers (i.e. Rumi Neely of FashionToast, Aimee Song of Song of Style, etc.) and then just grew a love of documenting my life like a digital diary, hence the name ‘Love, Sara Faye.’ Now I am a creator and my content focuses on everyday life, motherhood, books and romanticizing your life.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being a content creator is not without its challenges. I think the landscape has changed so much over the years but what really helped me was working in this industry at various in-house brands and agencies. I started working in social media since basically Instagram started so I’ve been able to navigate a lot of the shifts. Now, I just try to focus on living an authentic life and sharing when it feels good to – instead of trying to stick to a rigorous schedule due to the algorithm or for views. I love documenting my life whether it’s through journaling, taking polaroid photos, or sharing my digital virtual diaries through my content, so I don’t want social media to necessarily dictate when or how I share.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a full time Los Angeles Filipino-American blogger and content creator known mostly on Instagram and TikTok. I also have a blog and Youtube channel.
I am probably most known for my minimal neutral aesthetic, my niche in fashion, my motherhood journey, book club, and my lifestyle vlogs. I also share home decor, self care, skincare, beauty, books, poetry, feminism, slow living, and wellness.
I’m really proud of the book club my best friend and I created together. We read women authors and love stories that feature strong female leads. When we can, we try to give back to the community through donations. We meet in Los Angeles for brunch after every book and you can find us at @badbabeswithbooks.
How do you think about happiness?
I truly love the art of creating something with my hands whether it’s through baking or cooking, writing a poem on paper, creating a new ceramic piece through pottery, painting on canvas, scrapbooking or journaling. There’s something so satisfying about slowing down and truly creating something from scratch.
I also have always just loved writing in general, it’s something I always return to. And of course, there is nothing that makes me happier than curling up at home with a good book.
