Check Out Samira Bashout’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samira Bashout. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Samira Bashout is a solutions-oriented Experiential Events Producer in LA with over 9 years of event management & marketing experience from ideation to event execution and reporting with brand activations, strategic event programming and special events. She also serves on the Board of Directors for International Live Events Associations as their VP of Programs + Education.

Samira credits her ongoing fascination and experimentation with textures, colors, design techniques and highly organized details to her education at Newschool of Architecture and Design and the Event Management Program at University of San Diego. Samira’s architectural studies have been particularly instrumental in her unique perspective on event floor plans and her understanding of traffic patterns, as well as the use of unusual elements in event design. On the journey of developing her own business, A Bashout Creation, she took her background from Architectural Design school bringing it into the event space forging her own unique path and title as The Event Architect. Samira has innovated a way to showcase spatial design skills (transforming spaces) into a lively immersive experience.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
My professional journey was not easy, but nothing in life is. You have to follow your passion and believe in yourself the most. Having an amazing support team + accountability group got me through it. My #1 focus was creating concepts. Logistically configuring out unknown solutions. Problem-solving and thinking outside the box allowed me to bring new perspectives to light. Stepping out of the norm was one of the bravest things I could have done. The responses I received for my ideas were validation on their own. I knew I was doing something right as I had the ability to think ahead and envision a better outcome.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
A client gave me this amazing slogan that just stuck, ” when in doubt, call a Bashout”. A Bashout Creation stands true to that! It is my mission to be up to date with trends and educate my clients with innovation ideas. With this mindset, I have been fortunate to produce off-site live experiences such as Comic-Con activation for Warner Brother & DC Comics, Daybreakers and many other high-caliber exhibitions. Seeing these wild visions coming to live is what I thrive on!! I aim to be your go-to consultant for any concept creation and stage esthetic needs. I do not replicate the same event ideas twice for any of my clients which is why I have a great consistent client return rate.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
While the event industry saw a market size decline in 2020, due to Covid19 pandemic, as of 2022, our industry has seen growth rebuilding. I am grateful for these improvements! With new technology trends on the horizon, we are starting to implement new age knowledge into the live event world. Bringing a wide range of variations, we are starting to see more hybrid events, augmented reality and virtual reality. We are now leveraging virtual event technologies along with in-person event components.

In an age where information is easily available because of technological innovations, it comes as no surprise that attendees crave quality content in events as well. As the event industry continues to bounce back, producers are understanding the underlying importance of “valuable content” for their participants. In 2023, event organizers will focus on bringing professional and knowledgeable speakers to deliver informative keynotes and increase audience engagement. Many participants find in-person interactions engaging. Activities like live polls, Q&As, or gamified activities can be incorporated to keep the audiences engaged throughout the event.
