Check Out RICH LARU’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to RICH LARU

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Filmmaking and storytelling have been my guiding lights, leading me to discover the power of authentic expression. Through the ups and downs of the industry, I’ve learned that true success comes from embracing my rare authenticity and never wearing a mask. This realization has propelled me into motivational speaking and writing my first book, where I aim to inspire others to live authentically. When we wear masks, we only meet others doing the same, which pulls us away from our journey. True success isn’t just about achievements—it’s about being known for who we truly are.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been easy. The journey has been full of ups and downs—challenging, hurtful, and chaotic. But the moment I found the lesson in those experiences, I realized I had no boundaries—boundaries I didn’t even know I needed. I had to forgive myself for not knowing, for justifying others’ behavior, and for staying in circles that no longer served me.

I no longer play the industry’s game. I refuse to wear a mask or pretend. If I don’t vibe with someone, I simply move away. This shift has been powerful—when you operate at a higher vibration, you naturally attract people who align with your energy. Once I started truly living in my lane, everything began to take off.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a Stellar Award-winning film director specializing in commercials, music videos, and short films. My most recent project is VaShawn Mitchell’s new video, “Make a Way.” I received my Stellar Award for directing Erica Campbell’s “Feel Alright (Blessed)” music video.

What I’m most proud of isn’t just the accolades but the growth and understanding I’ve gained throughout this journey. The film industry comes with challenges, but I’ve reached a place where I no longer operate with expectations of others. Instead, I create freely, staying true to my vision without limitations.

What sets me apart is that I’m a disruptor—I don’t follow trends, I set them. My gift is creation, innovation, and pushing boundaries. Whether I’m behind the camera as a film director or inspiring others as a leading motivational speaker, my goal is to shift perspectives and unlock new ways of thinking and creating. I help people and projects tap into something bigger than what they initially envisioned.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happy is creating and pushing my mind to new possibilities. I love taking a vision—whether mine or someone else’s—and bringing it to life in a way that exceeds expectations. The process of problem-solving, innovating, and storytelling fuels me.

Beyond creativity, what truly fulfills me is helping people break free from what’s holding them back. When I have deep conversations with someone who is hurting or struggling to break a cycle, I can pinpoint the blind spots and help them step into clarity and healing. Seeing that transformation brings me joy.

Ultimately, listening to God and allowing Him to use me to impact others is why I’m here. Whether through film, storytelling, or simply being present for someone in need, helping people see beyond what they thought was possible is what makes me happiest.
