Rebecca Weinberg is President of XR Brands, an adult toy brand with over 3,000 items in their catalog. She’s a U.S. Navy Veteran and proud a Mom of 1 daughter in Grad school and 2 Pups in need of school. She has over 22 years of experience in the adult industry and was recruited by XR Brands 9 years ago. She has risen through the ranks of her industry including roles in Product Development, Sales, Sales Manager, General Manager and now President. She holds her BS in Network Communications and was awarded the XBiz Magazine 2020 Business Woman of the Year award. She was nominated again as business woman of the year in both 2022 and 2023 by XBIZ magazine.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Life, just like running a business is never a smooth road. One thing I pride myself on is to never make the same mistake twice. Learning from those “bumps in the road” has empowered me to make smart decisions along the way and avoid some future “bumps” that may present themselves before they become actual “bumps”. This learning from experience scenarios can apply to so many decision-making instances such as how many units to purchase on a new release to how to spot red flags within your team.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As President of a sex toy brand/manufacturer, I literally have my hands in every part of the business. This includes everything from product development, working with vendors, creating marketing plans, managing our Administrative and Sales teams, attending tradeshows, customer visits worldwide, supplier visits worldwide, numbers focused, operations efficiency and even some accounting. What sets me apart from others? My creativity, attention to detail and pretty good memory is truly my secret power.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Luck in business… I ask is there such a thing? After four years in the Navy, I started in my industry at the bottom all while being a single mother of an infant, taking 23 college units at a time and working 30 hours a week, I literally worked my tush off to get where I am today. Taking every opportunity presented or making my own opportunities when they weren’t any. Never taking no for an answer and always voicing my ideas and opinions has made me stand out from the rest. This approach did ruffle some feathers along the way but ultimately I have built a reputation as a strong leader and have earned the respect of not only my peers but my competitors too.
