Today we’d like to introduce you to Nina Quiros
Hi Nina, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Fashion has always been my first love—the constant thread weaving through every chapter of my journey. The path has twisted, turned, and reinvented itself, but at the core, my superpower remains the same: dressing people. To me, styling isn’t just about clothes; it’s an art form, a way to tell a story without words.
It all started in my teenage retail days—The Limited at 16, then leveling up to Versus at 18—where I first learned the art of merchandising and client styling. By my 20s, I was managing a bridesmaid boutique, finessing the balance between trend forecasting and timeless silhouettes. At 30, I made the leap and opened my own contemporary boutique in Colorado, curating an edit of emerging designers and cult-favorite labels. A decade later, I expanded to Cabo, MX, bringing that same vision to an international clientele.
Then came the pandemic—a major pivot. I closed my stores, moved to Santa Barbara, and fell hard for vintage fashion. The craftsmanship, the sustainability and most importantly the story — vintage wasn’t just nostalgic; it was the future. I started sourcing archival pieces, styling private clients, and building a collection that merged past and present with an editorial edge. During this time, I also created my first collection—25 vintage pieces, each reimagined and redesigned for the modern wardrobe.
At the beginning of this year, I have fully stepped into the commercial fashion industry as a wardrobe stylist, crafting high-impact visuals for campaigns, socials, and editorials.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
For me, the biggest challenge was undoubtedly COVID. What started as a major roadblock, COVID ended up being the catalyst that pushed me toward where I truly wanted to be. It was a reset, a redirection, and ultimately, the turning point that led me to step fully into my role as a wardrobe stylist. In addition, once I had children, the retail world got increasingly more difficult as the hours included nights, weekends and holidays and that took me even further away from spending time with my family.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At my core, I’m a stylist — I lean towards fashion as meticulous, intentional, and always with a touch of the unexpected, whether it’s for editorial shoots, commercial campaigns, or the odd private clients. My background in retail, boutique ownership, and vintage curation gives me a unique perspective—I don’t just style looks, I build narratives, mixing past and present to create something fresh and unexpected.
I’m probably best known for my ability to blend vintage with contemporary fashion in a way that feels elevated, yet avant-garde. have an eye for standout pieces, the kind that spark conversation, and I love pushing creative boundaries while keeping everything wearable and authentic.
What I’m most proud of is my ability to mix pieces that shouldn’t work together—but somehow do. I love challenging the expected, pushing past the obvious, and giving my clients a fresh perspective. Fashion should feel dynamic, expressive, daring, and fun. I bring that mindset into everything I style
What sets me apart? My approach. I don’t just chase trends—I study the people that wear them. I believe great styling is all about the details, and I bring that level of thoughtfulness to every project.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
The most interesting thing about me—at least in relation to my job—is that, at the end of the day, I’m a jeans-and-t-shirt kind of girl. After styling bold, high-concept looks all day, nothing feels better than slipping into my best pair of jeans—old or new, oversized or fitted, perfectly distressed or completely thrashed—paired with whatever white tee I’m obsessed with at the moment. It’s effortless but intentional, the foundation of great style, and to me, the ultimate blank canvas.
