Hi Na’Kaila and Allie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As black women in high demand in underrepresented career fields in Cybersecurity, we felt it was pivotal to create a brand for women with similar backgrounds as us. We provide confidence within the workplace and give women the opportunity to express themselves on social media without being perceived negatively. Our online boutique provides apparel where women have the confidence to be their authentic selves no matter the environment.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, starting an online business is far from smooth. We started our business during the pandemic in 2020 when millions of people had no other option but to shop online. It’s been challenging to grow our customer base outside of our immediate network. Scaling as an online boutique has been an ever-changing obstacle as we attempt to automate and evolve our processes. Marketing through social media has been a huge influence on our customer base. By leveraging our network, we were able to utilize others specialized in this area of marketing. We are growing in the right direction but still looking to better adapt our marketing strategy as an online boutique.

Allie is an Engineering Manager at a Federally Funded Research and Development Company (FFRDC) where she is responsible for managing engineers who apply research and development activities to solve the government’s toughest technical problems related to space. Na’Kaila is a Sr. Security Specialist at The Walt Disney where she is responsible for ensuring security compliance and governance of services and products used across the worldwide company.
