Today we’d like to introduce you to Monique Williams-Randolph.

Monique Williams -Randolph

Hi Monique, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am the owner of Unity Dance Studio, Lead Vocalist of Synergy R& B Band, and owner of A& M Logistics and Broker Services… I started my journey classically training in dance and voice at the age of eight years old… Blackwell Academy of the Performing Arts. Mount San Antonio and USC were all my training grounds… I opened my first Dance program in 2004 in Ontario, CA working within my community. I have owned three studios since conception, and I have always used my platform for the betterment of the community and encouraging children and adults to express themselves through Dance Wellness being the ultimate. Destination through Dance. Being able to teach and perform has been one of my achievements that allows me to enjoy my greatest achievement, which is being the mother of five beautiful children. I have worked with different artists over the years in many forms and productions. I am currently the director of the city of Victorville’s dance department through Unity Dance Studio. I perform locally throughout the Inland Empire and Los Angeles.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s never a smooth ride… I am the support system for my family… dealing with mental illness and Covid 19 has been an experience that has taught me patience and planning are essential… Being an entrepreneur, Indigenous Women, and a cultural bearer is not for the weak… Having an understanding of self and culture leads to your right path… The narrow path is never an easy way.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Cultural bearer, entrepreneur, mother of five, wife, entertainer, instructor, triple treat. I’m proud of everything that the Most High has granted to me…

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Expression in any form will feel blissful… but happiness comes from inside… it brings joy to my heart when I see children growing in their understanding of dance and performance… its nothing like seeing their faces as they learn what they can do… A little encouragement goes a long way.
